Thank goodness we have ima!
Calif_Sue, I really like your sharing your learning experiences with the camera. I like the softening effect you achieved when you blurred the 2nd photo. That sunlight really made that grass stand out. Very nice and clear photos all.
mrs._colla, I have a troupe of little people who hide my tools and later on put them in the most improbable places. Really! Sometimes they even turn up where I've already looked. The little people love playing tricks on us big people. Sometimes they are helpful too!
So yeah, I believe you.

It's really fall!
Singing Wolf, I believe it!!!! Such strange things happen indoors with socks in my house. Also, one of those little people is ID'd in my house, but he denies! :-)
Janet, I'd love some of those white four o'clock seeds and the Wyoming canna as well. Happy to send you postage for them.
SW, I can always use succulent pups. I have a rather large bed and not nearly enough to fill it yet.
Thanks, pigeon....I appreciate it.
Sherry
DP, you're on the list for both! I'll let you know when I dig---it'll be after frost. I have other cannas if you are interested, too.
What kind do you want DP? I have several types of jade plants, and all kinds of others, some posted on the succulent thread we had here. I don't always know the names of them, but I got extra's that could use a good home. : - )
I might even have two daylillies that survived (I don't know how!) the last onslaught of the weed whacker.
Mrs. Cholla, I am convinced there is a black hole in the washer or dryer that eats those socks! It's the little people that hide your car keys, even though you just had them, and your book, or your glasses, or gosh forbid "the remote control"! Then you find them in the most improbable places. Usually five minutes after you looked there for the first time. Oh our little people friends!
LMK!

I loved reading 'The Borrowers' when I was a kid. At the time, I thought it was fiction....
DP, I can send you some succulent starts, along with the cannas & white 4-o-clocks. I collected more seeds today. They're looking fat and healthy!.
Well...actually, socks can be sucked down the washer's drain...mystery solved. You can prevent this happening by washing socks in a lingerie bag. Not that I have a lingerie bag or know where to find one...lol..
Janet, just let me know when you'll be ready to send something and I'll get some postage in the mail to you.
Jules, I have lots of jade, but I'd take most anything else. The bed is a little over 400 square feet so I've got lots of room.
I'm gonna have to make a quarry run for rocks though. I can't believe how much these landscape yards want for ROCKS!! Just to make a 15 foot long 'dry' stream bed, it would cost me over a thousand dollars for the rock. I'm going to Arizona a couple of times over the next few weeks so I'll just bring some rock back with me. I have plenty at my Cottonwood house that my tenant would certainly be happy to see gone.
DP, keep your eye on Craig's List: SD North County: Free
We got a whole trailer-load from someone once, and I've seen plenty on the list lately. Most of the ads are for smaller stuff, but recently there were some big ones.
Anything extra you bring back from AZ, you can drop off here! LOL
We just gave big river rocks away and syare rocks that came from building the seminary!
Look on Craigslist indeed, and this time of year a lot of people might be cleaning up before the rains return.
Good Luck!
DP,
Buddy says Hi!
I will take photos of the various succulents around here for you and you can tell me what you want. I do have some unusual large succulents that you might like.
If you want some plain old granite (pink) and some blue granite and can wrestle them down the hill you can come get a chunk or two from us. DH can pick up bigger ones with his forklift or tractor, if you have a way to get them out of your truck when you get home.
I never buy river rock. I just collect them rounded rocks every winter when I go down to the beach. They are too expensive to buy.
KC the offer still stands for you and John too.
Be back soon, have to transfer photos to the computer to show you some cool stuff I saw yesterday.

DP: That daylily is a rebloomer, so it's right on schedule !
Doss: Your JM's are fantastic !!!
I kinda figured it was a re-bloomer Mike, but we didn't discuss it. It's cool that it's blooming for me now anyway. That Iris is gonna have a pretty bloom too, I'm sure.
DP, I think you should go out and take photos more often. It's sweet to see how well some of your contributions are doing.
doss, ditto what JD said. Wow, those JM's are gorgeous!
I'm back from the bee convention. More on that later.
Just happy to be home where they don't charge me almost $12/day for internet. I really missed all my friends at DG. Not to mention lost out on a chance to meet up with Rob. Sorry girlfriend!
Have a bunch of photos to share, and not much time tonight.
Still trying to catch up. I saw the photo contest winners are in. I want to go peek.

This one was also taken down by the (dry) creek bed. A bit further downstream is the farm pond, where we put water in the creek for the wild ones. Got more habitat for the wild ones, less drip lines chewed up, and the coyotes don't have to come to my house to get a drink. So many birds down there now.
I thought this photo is as close as we get to the Traditional Fall colors on the farm here. I also liked the lighting. The fog was just lifting.
Enjoy!
