Hello All,
Well I am free at last oh thank god I am free at last... The wedding went off today without a hitch... I was so nervous as I was the first one to be walked down the isle and to light the first candle.. I had a really great man walk me down as he use to eat here all the time growing up... I told him if he let me trip, faint or forget to light the candle he was never getting fried chicken at my home again... He told me no problem as he still want to eat here.... Everyone look so pretty and handsome... We had a wonderful time and so did the Bride and Groom.....
Today was also my niece's baby show and I told them I would make the center piece for it even though I could not go to it... I got to bed kinda late last night as we had the rehearsal for the wedding... BUT I have to say the center piece turned out really good... I only had to stay up until about 1 to finish making it...
My feet are killing me and my body won't work right for several days as we danced out butts off..LOLOL This was the first time I never took a picture at an event... So I will be getting them soon and then showing all of you...
Ok I am tired and need extra beauty sleep... So here is a picture of the diaper cake... not the best pictures but my batteries died as I was taking so not as clear as I wanted...
Hope you have had a good week. Me for one is glad it is over...LOL

Hugs,
Susan

Oh Susan, that looks so elegant! You did a fabulous job! I am actually going to make my daughter one for her shower. I usually attach small baby stuff to mine (rattles, pacifiers, ect.) and put a bear or something like that on top. You have "topped the cake" LOL. What did you use for the bottom? Is it a board? I use a heavy piece of cardboard covered with aluminum foil and put a plastic doily on top. I think yours is AWESOME! I love seeing different ones.

Connie

Glad things went good at the wedding! I know it was beautiful.

Beautiful plants everyone, and Turtlechi you did a great job on that centerpiece, it is the prettiest baby supply cake I have ever seen.

I have been sooo busy with school, barely get a chance to stop by here lately, I spend all my time on really fun websites like "Understanding your EKG", or "The Truth about Cardiac Biomarkers and Acute MI" and my personal favorite, "Peripheral Arterial Disease for Dummies" ......with all this junk rolling around in my head, I find it hard to remember my own last name these days.

Anyway, here is my only beautiful violet at this moment, have her in a Halloween candle holder...this is my favorite time of the year!

oops, forgot to mention that this is Cherokee Trail (std trailer)

Hi All,
Thanks for the nice words for my diaper cake... Never did one before so I think it came out pretty good... Connie the bottom is a piece of foam board. Never thought to put a stuffed animal at the top ... Was already told to be prepared to be making more as the people at the shower wanted my number so I could make them one for there kids.... I can be very crafty when I want to but lately I have not been in the mood to do...LOLOLOL Amy is special and is the reason I did it for her.. She would have loved it even if it were just one diaper with a glued bottle on it...LOL She is a doll baby...
Ok as I said I did not take the first picture at the wedding but MIL took a few so here is what I have so far.... I HATE MY PICTURE TAKEN....First one is of Britt and Dave just after they were done at the alter....LOL

You and your husband have a great "gene pool". You have produced some very handsome sons! I will usually take some diapers out of the middle of the layers and replace them with little gifts like a t-shirt or booties, ect. I also place a bottle hidden inside and put a note in it for the "new mommy". My daugher has been trying for 5 years to have a baby and she finally gave up. What happens when you give up? That is right...she is 3 months pregnant! YAY!!! My first biological grandbaby is on the way!. I will be making her a cake as well but I will also be placing money inside that hidden bottle :) I have been asked to make and sell them but I have NO idea what a fair price would be. I know it takes a lot of diapers. I usually just give it away as my gift to the expecting mommy. Get you some much needed rest before work tomorrow :)

Connie

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Connie,
Why thank you very much... We think they are all good looking men... They had a wishing well at the baby shower also is why I did not put undershirts etc inside... I never thought to put a toy on top...LOL This was my first one and I think it came out pretty good. It took me 56 diapers to make the "cake". As I said above this is a special niece Amy... She has diabetes and lost her first baby, at 3 months... So this one is a little girl... Sister can't wait... Neither can I... I had already given her the big baby presents so I was thrilled to make the diaper cake for her...
I am still tired from the weekend... When I push my body like I did this weekend by dancing my butt off always the second day my fibro kicks in and boy has it...LOL
Hugs,
Susan

Oh, don't take me wrong...I LOVE how your cake turned out. I have never seen one so elegant and dainty before. Just wanted to share some things that I do with them. I can only imagine the compliments you got on that. Oh, please tell me about the wishing well. I have never seen one of those. If you have to...send me a d-mail. It sounds like something I would like to try at my daughter's shower. Any other ideas? You have some good ones :) You need to sit back down and type anyway. You need a rest again LOL

Thanks! Oh, he is a keeper. Beautiful eyes.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Connie,
Oh I thank you for the info on adding things to the diaper cake as I never did one before.... As far as the wishing well went I will have to ask my sister as I could not go to wedding and shower...LOL So my son won out and I went to wedding.... Oh you had a Grand baby??? Well that is wonderful and it is a pleasure to have them... They grow so fast so enjoy while you can.... Hillbilly, your baby is just so handsome.... Gotta love the babies... :-)
Well I know it is early but I am in bed typing this and going to read for a few then close my eyes...LOL Work tomorrow so my body needs all the rest it can get..LOL
Hugs,
Susan
PS. give babies kisses from me please...

Hey,

Can you do some kind of wedding cake with items for a wedding shower. I don't know what you would use but it just occurred to me:)

Pat

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

Hey Pat,

Good idea! Glad you all are creative cause I'm not. I was trying to think of what you could use instead of diapers...I got it! You could use dishcloths and handtowels or washcloths and towels. Regular towels would make a BIG cake LOL I guess you could use things like measures spoons and cooking utensils...maybe stuff like that.

Sweet dreams, Susan!

Connie

Connie,

Great idea for a wedding! My daughter will be getting engaged soon and I have my cousin's baby shower coming up. It would be fun to make 2 different ones! What would be really neat would be to fine little kitchen towels with AVs on them!
