Susan...........did you see my picture that every single one of your plumerias has leaves on them already!! The winds today peaked at 50mph and I kept checking on the plumies, but they seemed to survive it..............
I think I am not going to sell on ebay anymore!!! I had a perfect score of 100% with only a fraction of the 4th star (shipping charges) with just a knick in it. This lady bought 3 big plants for 4.00 each and one was Two-W Marne. In the ad I intentionally said that she was very large and to not be alarmed if she lost some leaves. In her feedback, she said "Thanks for the heads up on Marne and the other two were perfect"......then she proceeded to give me the lowest marks you can have.......the reason I know? Until she gave the rating there was nothing missing from the first 3 stars............
I blocked her from bidding.........but I am coming back to Daves for good............I told her it hurt my feelings for her to do that when I had given her a head's up on how large the one plant was in both the ad and a personal email.
I had already given her good feedback when she paid for it........
***I am becoming one of those old 'meanie' sellers on ebay..........I worked so hard and shipped her package the very next day! These aren't the 'rewards' that make you feel good at all.
October Gessies
No I did not Gail, Where is the picture so I see them... I know they will grow so much better for you there.... You know Gail what you are saying is one of the main reasons I don't like to sell.. I have not even relisted here yet...LOLOL
Keep my sister Debbie and her husband Frank in your prayers as Franks Mom passed away yesterday... See looked death in the eyes more then once in her life and bounced back so she had a very good life...
Hugs,
Susan
I certainly will keep your sister and hubby in my prayers. Today at 4pm my dear friend, Frances, passed away at age 64 from a 4 year battle with lung and brain cancer. I am so happy for her and her husband and kids. She is in a better place as is Frank's Mom.
I will see if I can find some pics I took........yesterday....
Stopping by to look at all of the pretty's!! Everyone's look soo nice!!!! Have not had time to take a lot of pic's lately. But will get back on the band wagon soon!!!

I received leaves of Rob's Who Dunnit last spring from two different
round robbins. They are now both in bloom, but a little different. The smaller violet has darker red in the center, and the larger one is much paler. Is this normal for them to be so different? I like them both but prefer the more colorful one.
Both of them fit the description in first class . . .
Rob's Whodunit (7902) 06/02/1993 (R. Robinson) Semidouble white sticktite pansy/bright red eye, variable thin red edge. Medium green, quilted, glossy. Semiminiature
It's the 'variable' that is in effect for the one on the right!
Gran, your sinningia is very beautiful! I have started growing and I really get a lot of enjoyment out of them:)
Pat
I really think that Sinningia 'Gabriel's Horn' is one of my very favorite ones! Thanks for the reminder!
Nicole, thanks for the description of Rob's Who Dunnit. At least now I know it's normal for them to be a little different.
Gran,
What a pretty Sinn.
Gail,
I am so sorry about your friend, but she is at peace now.
Digger,
Both of your AVs are pretty and the next bloom may vary some more....that's part of the fun!!
Thanks, Lynn.......
The memorial service is Monday afternoon at 4pm. We will be feeding over 300 people after the service and I volunteered to wash serving pieces. That is my favorite thing to do when people gather for a meal provided by church members after a funeral or memorial service. (I am not teasing either).......
I can't think of anyone I loved more in the church........we spent so much time working on both Kairos Prison ministry and the Kairos Outside for women who have someone they love in prison. Frances was the most faithful and beautiful lady who inspired everyone to be more than they were or are...........
I'm sorry about your friend, Gail. It makes it so much easier when you know they were prepared to go, doesn't it? It doesn't take the pain of missing them, but it's a blessing to know they're not in pain anymore, and in such a glorious place where there is no more pain or tears.
Check the marketplace! Gesneriads galore! Of course, I shopped first, before I spilled the beans! LOL :oP
Hola, hello,
I am new in this foro, from Spain (Z10), and use to grow annuals and perennials from seed, but I have also some gesner.
The streptocarpus and gloxinias are better in my garden than at home. Until the frost, I let them outside.
Today, I have prepared some trials for sowing gloxinia speciosa (Paseseeds); streptocarpus and streptocarpellas (Dibleys); it is for the first time I sow gesner.
the information in this page was very important for me. I think all you know it:
http://www.senior-gardening.com/features/gloxinias.html
Happy gardenning.
Ana
mamina, welcome aboard!!! Glad to see you and I love to grow from seed. I will post some of the gloxinia speciosa (sinningia) pictures from last winter.
I want to go to your site you gave us. We love to find out something......anything new.......thanks
This is purple peloric. I got all my seeds from The Gesneriad Society. Didn't know that PASE had them, too....good to know.
Many thanks, gessie. My english is very rigid and cold for to be funny, but I love your reponse. And your gloxinias also: they are very beatifull.
The Gesneriad American Society do not send to Europe, I think. I am happy with a few seeds for traying germ it.
Has anyone every shown a chirita in a show? I need to look into that . . .
We have lots of chiritas in our shows. I have some good ones right now...........including 'Patina'.
Cool. Sent you a dmail. . . ^_^

You're right Amy. Nicole has tons of beautiful plants/seeds in the Marketplace. I got some plants from her before and they have turned out to be my favorites:)
Pat
I have so many extra plants I want to get around to coming back to DG markeplace.........but I have to wait until ebay auction is over with.
I just bought 3 from Nichole and she bought one from me on ebay and then..........and then I have the other two she wants.........why do we end up buying from one another.....
ebay needs to make a living too? LOL
Yeah.........right? WRONG!!
Hope you are finally feeling better, Jim! I get mad at ebay but I go back.......it is addicting sometimes!!
(Kinda like DG and my friends)
How your streptoc. are beatifull, gail!
And other gesneriads of you alls.
Each gloxinias packet had 15 seeds; so, I have ordered two ones at Peter (jungleseeds).
Thank, biostrep, you are very nice.

mrsbonnie
Ana, Your plants and terrace are very pretty. I think growing from seeds as you are must be the most rewarding part of being a gardener. Welcome to our forum. We love to have new members and new ideas and plants. Remember that your English is very good in comparison to most of our Spanish.LOL Lou
I am going to try to grow a few strep seeds that came off my plants.. Can anyone give me any tips? I tried to grow once before but killed the tiny and I mean tiny plants coming up... So any help would be GREAT.... Thanks
Hugs,
Susan
I have some seeds down,i do it one of two ways,1st way, take a donut container and put in some of your mix that you will grow them in
*(big streps) wet the soil down and sprinkle the seeds, the wet the soil down and let them sprout, once they have sprouted and have had a week or so,tap the edge and take a fork or something simular and lift the babies, this gets them to grow quicker,do this every week or so
and after the 3rd time they will be big enough to move into little pots, once they are big and growing ill tell you the rest,oh heck
once they get a second adult leave trim it back this encourges more leaves to sprout
the second way is to sprinkle a layer of milled spagnum peat over your soil mix, this will help with damping off,
remember a few seeds goes a long way
JIM
Ana,
Your garden is very lovely! I don't speak Spanish either but I think I was able to understand the names of a couple of the plants pictured.
Your cat Romo is a handsome fellow, he has some of the same coloration as one of our cats that died last year. She was 15 years old and a big fat girl... at one time she weighed 25 pounds!
"Coco"
She was a beauty, kinda looks like my "honey" she loves to chase my laser light and will climb up and remind me its time to play
(it would be all the time if i let her
