Glenview, IL

Smiley and Trina, I am sure you lovely work work.
I am with you both, hand stitching over a machine any day.
I mean it's pretty and all, but i think the whole fun is doing the stitches!

I like to be arty crafty, will try all kinds of things, and lol some of mine Looks like an amature did it, but it's fun!
Thanks for watercan idea! keeping in mind as I go.

LOL, I am back, got side tracked painting the side of house.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Smiley, know what your talking about, my kids costumes were all homemade useing bandages for mummy, trash bags for stuffing spider belly and what not. Didn't have access to the store bought stuff they have now. Man some of those costumes are so pricey you want to store them with the prom attire lol.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

well I will definately take a box of the ones that didn't make it into this box ! they look like i just took them off the plant! and any others just fill me up another box...I Love them...I may forget what they are called but I love them!

Huber Heights , OH(Zone 5b)

we have a lot of rooted ones too, are you sure you want another box, it will be packed full you might get some of the same. if that is ok,

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

that is perfectly fine with me! I love them!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Trina, I can't do the Happy Dance, because that's your thing, but I'll do... let's see... the clappy clap (for now).

Thank you for the coleus, they're beautiful, better than the computer screen. Are all 3 the same? One looked different than the others.

And the rose... I love the rose...

Thank you so much!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

yes all 3 are from the same plant...isn't it cool!....if you have room I highly recommend you talk to stplong this box is awesome! but I've given up trying to keep the name with the plant

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I don't know if I'd have anything to trade, except more coleus! Or turtleheads..

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

it's $10.35 for shipping that's it and OMG!!!!! I probably have enough to make starts from each one for at least 6 people....I love it!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I use Fedex-man because that's how we ship small packages at work. I bring it in & give it to a guy and he lets me know how much my business discounted price is. Works for me!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

me too! I wasn't expecting that...my kitchen now looks like a coleus explosion!

Huber Heights , OH(Zone 5b)

smiley if you are interested we have plenty, the box will be packed. we over did ourselves this year, and there are still more that we wanted that we didn't get (yet)

Trina, did you find the hibiscus? or the blue shrimp plants? I am going to cover them up tonight there are at least 20 more of them out there from where I didn't get all of the seeds Patrick cut it back.

We have all the hibbies in the garage right now, and some in the house, we have to find the room for them. we really need a couple of greenhouses or move to florida soon, I bet when we do move it is going to take a couple semis just to move the plants,

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Homemade costumes were always the most fun. Amazing what you can do with stuff found around the house.

stplong. do you have a pic of your blue shrimp plant?

Did I tell you I was always a gypsy on halloween, Moon? My mom had this really cool velvet skirt, and a white ruffly shirt, ALL her costume jewelry and makeup.

I LOVED being a gypsy on halloween. I wonder if she liked it though, she would always have me look at the darned costumes in the box with the mask on top. shudder!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

will the blue shrimp plant survive our winters?

Huber Heights , OH(Zone 5b)

no they need to be overwintered, if you need some seeds instead let me know and I can throw some in the next box

here is another picture of it with the flowers on it

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Huber Heights , OH(Zone 5b)

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hi stplong, good to see ya in here. Welcome to the funny farm lol Love the pictures and little girl is adorable.

Jesup, GA

Hi every one. Trina your dog is a better dresser than I am. And soooo cute. Cute kids in pics. also. Hey Moon, throwing you a wave out there. My daughter is going back to college to finish up with her degree. Thank goodness. I will be with grands in the evenings for a while. I will be popping in and out just to say hello to you all. In other words my life has become a little busy for a time. Will catch up with you gypsies later. Hope all of you have a wonderful day !!.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

just follow the gypsy crumb trail, Dixie!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hey Dixie...have fun with the grands....they can certainly keep ya hopping....just ask JJs...grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Amen to that moon!!

Just when you thought oh boy no more homework!! :)

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Just wait for advanced math.....grin

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Know what I had? The "Everyday Math" program. They show them every which way to add, subtract, multiply and divide except the basic way. Regrouping, all kinds of weird things.

I was never so frustrated, trying to help the Girl with her homework. They even had a couple night "classes" for the parents, disguised as an "information" session.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Advanced math yea right. I'm with smiley I had to read the 3rd grade math book( how embarrassing ) to figure out how they wanted it done.
Why do you need associative principles to add 6+3+2 ?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sometimes I think it is just to sell textbooks to schools....otherwise they would only need to replace wornout books....

Jesup, GA

Math was my most horrible subject. I actually cheated my way through it. Still do not like it but am a little better. My mother told me if you do not like something you wont try to learn it . THAT WAS TRUE. And I still hate it. Love a lot of things and eager to learn the things I dont know a lot about . But math, poo, poo, I am still the same when it comes to that subject. I guess I just want some one to sympathise with me , and say I hear ya girl. Come I want to see some I hear ya girl out there !!.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I hear ya, girl!

And I'm a bookkeeper. Who'd a thought? But it really doesn't involve math, just balancing.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I hear ya Dixie.....I love numbers and am fascinated by how neatly they work, but dyslexia makes math HARD...especially Algebra with numbers and letters......grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I hear ya girls. I think thats what they made grampas for.....MATH .... LOL
