There's also been a pair of large Red-tailed Hawks looking for food.

This Calif. Towhee wasn't a bit afraid of me and kept on searching for food in the rocks.

This Acorn Woodpecker was collecting acorns.

This tree is almost full of the acorns.

Now that I'm working in an office, I don't get to see birds all day :( But luckily I can live through you guys! Great stuff, all, esp seeing the acorn collection!

Stafford County, VA

Very interesting stuff, Duc. That's quite a tree.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

That woodpecker is on my "want to see" list. I love their granary trees.

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Very nice Duc
Resin, thanks for the clarification on the Gull.

A tree full of Starlings, next door.

And a Fox Sparrow.

Those Acorn Woodpeckers are fascinating. Gives a whole new meaning to "saving for a rainy day". I did have a Hawk fly right over me while I was outside, but he came from behind some trees and no time for a photo.

Marlton, NJ

Wow this is and outstanding thread! Great pics everyone!

Marlton, NJ

Went down the shore the last 3 days. I spent most of my time in Cape May. Saw at least 14 new birds!!

This is not one of them but it's a Great Black-backed Gull. Largest gull in N. America.

I took a break from working in the yard, when Jay starting begging for peanuts, and took a few closeup pictures of him.

Thumbnail by Grasmussen
Anchorage, AK(Zone 4a)

He wasn't a very patient model today, jumping around so much, most of the shots were blurred. Only a few sharp pictures like this one.

Recently Jay has been coming to the kitchen window mornings, while I'm having breakfast, and reading the morning paper. I eat at a counter in front of the window. He bounces around on the outside windowsill 2 or 3 feet in front of me, until I come out with a few peanuts.

The door is on the opposite side of the house from the kitchen window. As soon as, I get up to go out, Jay goes around to the other side of the house, and waits for me to come out.

Great shots everyone! I haven't had the time to add anything, but I am loving just looking at those of everyone else.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Absolutely stunning shots. Love that Jay!

Houston people LOOK UP again! Another group of migrating Broad-winged Hawks just went by. They were flying lower and further west. If you are near Galleria or Bellaire, LOOK UP! Heck, if you're in Katy look east! I only got one picture and haven't downloaded it yet, but it's fabulous to see.

Here is a pic from yesterday. I took about 10 pictures and its mouth was open in about 8 of them, so I think maybe Red-shouldered Hawk?

Beautiful Gary!!

Great Hawk shot Elphaba!

I had been wondering where the Nashville Warblers were...then I had a pic who's ID I wasn't sure of...though Magno;ia but that didn't seem right to me. So had to get it ID'd correctly. And guess what ...it was a Nashville Warbler..LOL!!

Love the Jay Gary!

Congrats nanny!

Looks like a red-tailed to me Elphaba.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

That's funny Pelle b/c I always guess red-tailed and I'm always wrong. The one time I guess something else it's a red-tailed. Too funny!

We went to one of our state parks on a bird walk this morning. First thing I found was this Northern Flicker (red shafted).

Duc, Great birds on your walk! Was the American Pipit new for you?
