GYPSIES REMEMBER BASIL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Neat. And the rest is history as they say...grin

Gotta take the Kid to meet up with his Dad in just a bit....DHJim is working nights, so I get to play tonight....loud music and laundry....hey, am I a party animal or what...lol

Keaau, HI

Hey Jean, does that mean dancing with the laundry?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Lynnie I'm sold. If its good at picking up dog hair and it can work while I'm sleeping and plug itself in.
I must deserve a present for something, mmm let me think I'll come up with something.

So I know as much about wood as I do flowers!! We use to have a wood burner in the basement we heated with. DH worked out of town for a month, had wood stacked in basement for me. I filled the woodburner up with hedge. Got real warm, fire shooting out of chimney, gooey stuff running down inside of walls, and the furnace was glowing and cracked. Not my fault he should have put labels on wood all looked alike to me!! Needless to say we don't have one anymore.

Venice you can call me anything you want.

Neat pictures Dave.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Yes sir Dave...you ought to see how talented the towels at my house are....grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Moon mine GS already gone for the weekend. School got out at 11. His mom came and got him and his dad came and got the dog.

I think the weekend is all mine!!! My DH is never home this time of the year. Too much to get done before winter sets in. Then maybe it will be my turn and I can get him to finish the kitchen.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

dancing laundry... pesto... (yum!) doggies in raincoats...

I missed a lot on the ride home.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I heard that once sweet basil goes to seed it tastes bitter. Is that true? If not, I dumped my scrawny little plant for nothing!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Whoopieeeee Grannys night out! WE can all eat all the chocolate we want and play our kind of music as loud as we want and dance the mashed potaoe or the jerk. Cool !!! I'll be back for the festivities gotta make a phone call. JJ take videos of that vacume for our entertainment I'm fascinated and to think a mop too, wow I would feel like I was in a Mary Poppins movie for sure lol

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Flowers I'll have to check with Lynnie on doing the jerk, might throw something out of wack and ruin her hard work.. :)

I could do the swim!!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

And can we do the pony too JJ lol

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Julie whats your dance choice? Moon can sing or should I say howl us a tune lol

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

JJ funny story about wood heater. I remember years ago hubby was working third and trying to sleep. So I decided to build a fire in the fireplace. Well what I forgot was that I had stuck a blanket up the flute since we didn't have a damper to close and lit the fire. Well needless to say the house got pretty smokey and dh had a rude awakening.

Keaau, HI

Basil always tastes good to me. The seed spikes need to be removed to keep the plant from going annual.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Lynnie which robot do you have?

I am going to have to be a VERY good girl.

I knew they were pricey but OUCH thats gonna hurt.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

ok I am back from my walk about of gathering and I got pictures

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I hear ya JJ. Do something for you tonight, the garden will still be there tomorrow....and the weeds and bugs....grin

SmileyJ....it is the weekend...let down your hair, put some good reggae on the box and enjoy the last of the summer wine....so to speak....grin

I use the basil to make basil syrup, so it doesn't matter if it is a touch bitter. The little bit of raw sugar used for the syrup takes care of that.

Yo Karen, chocolate, loud music and the mashed potato sound just perfect, com'on over....I have some new nail polish and a new face cream......ROTFL....we can have a slumber party.....grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Somehow I think the Jerk and twister may put us all in traction....lol

It really ticked me off when they stole Zevon's music to make that song....turn it off right after the piano riff.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

yes second one is a Hydrangea for sure, don't ask me the proper name. JJ you just bring the bobby pins for the pin curls and the orange juice cans for the big curls. Flannel is a ok.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Bobby pin I have those!!!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

that doesn't look like any rose I have ever seen. The grass is lyle rope don't think I spelled that right.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

We can watch Grease, my favorite

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Look what son brought me for watching the dog.

I really need to paint this porch.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

The "rose" is a dahlia and i believe the grass is either a hakonea or cosmopolitan grass.

Karen, look at the lower right corner on the grass and you will see the way the blade bends...

Flannel is fine, JJs, my BroomHildas are flannel....I'll just crank up the A/C....lol

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

What you called a rose, I think that is a dahlia.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

your right it's the dahlia...I hate thumbnails!

Here's a close up of the flowers on that vine

How sweet JJ, If they are hardy mums you can plant them outside and they will come back bigger next year.
