I went down to Cape May this morning, it was supposed to be a beautiful day but the morning was rainy, windy and dark out . I did get 4 new birds on my list but I did not bring out the camera till on my way home when I stopped in at Stone Harbor Wetlands Institute. Here is an Eastern Phoebe.

A Northern Flicker who was all over the path ahead of me.

Hello everyone! I have just recently started watching the Bird Wathcing forum and I love it! So many great threads and even greater photos!

I wanted to share with you all my family's vacation to Chincoteague Island, Virginia this summer. Ran across this fellow wandering about the OKC Zoo last evening. They have several Peafowl that are more or less free to roam. Not sure how they keep them all in, probably don't. An albino Peacock. I flashed him so his red eyes will be visible.

Another zoo pic from the Oklahoma Trails exhibit which features animals native to our state. The birds are inside a large netted area and are all about you.

Love the white Peacock....and I think if you flashed me I would get red-eyed also :)

Welcome to the forum Wild Rose...hope to see more of you and your birds.

Those are great shots of the beautiful zoo birds Pelle and that Cattle Egret is sure gorgeous.

Fall in definitely in the air and I ventured to one of the brush piles yesterday...it seemed kind of quiet there but I eventually saw the Bald Eagle and a Hawk cruising the area. Eventually the birds returned and I was able to get some long distance shots.

Here is a juvenile male Cardinal sunning himself after taking a bath in the hidden stream.

I am loving all the flight shots on this thread...something I need to try out someday!

Here is a Field Sparrow.

There are still several Indigo Buntings eating the grass seeds that DH planted a few years ago.

The Mockingbirds seem to be in charge of this brush pile...there are lots of poke berries growing in it and the birds are loving them.

The highlight of the visit was seeing this Summer Tanager!! I got lots of good looks but my lens was just not long enough to do justice to this gorgeous bird.

I've seen some Polk plants down on the creek that are loaded. I think there is too much food around here right now for birds to come to my feeders. Saw a House Finch out there a few minutes ago, first one I've seen in weeks. All my regulars except doves, hummers and HOSP are elsewhere right now. Did get a pic of a Cardinal. Plumage is just coming out, he'll be beautiful in a few weeks.

I almost forgot the Bluebirds!! They come to the yard and feeders everyday.
