wondering if ladyg has an orange cast for halloween
Lets see your fall decorations!
She could draw a spiderweb on it and glue those little plastic spiders on it. LOL
LadyG, How's the arm?
aaaaaaaawwwwww LadyG I can decorate your arm for you!
Well Allison that is a really colorful spreadsheet, very Halloweeny. Looks like fun I you know what you are doing.
Sally, LOL. I can count on you to put a funny spin on my situation. Thanks guys. They may be casting me as the mummy!
Holly,
I am hurting from time to time. Will see the Dr. this morning at 11:00.
After 11 years of holding my Group's Halloween party--I am OD'd on decorations.....and preparations.....
It has now been about 3 years that i stopped having this extravaganza. I have a HUGE box of all kinds of decorations in my basement--and at least 3-under-bed boxes full of the straw scare-crows....witches...dolls...etc.
I really, really have some nice decorations in that big box! Every year i would add to them from the "After Halloween" ales. Used to put weird candelabras on all the tables---and hung bats from the ceiling--and had one of those flying bats just outside my front door--and that door-mat hidden under my rug that when you step on it--it shrieks!...cob-webs everywhere---black, cut out bats flying all over my walls---besides gauzy "clouds" and swords and whatever---all over the place....
I picked 5 judges (NOT in costume) and they chose the winners from 5 different categories...had great prizes.....
On the average--I always had about 30-35 people in attendance. ALL silly adults!
I, myself, always was in costume too.....
It was all pot-luck (well organized by Moi--of course) so no one ever went hungry.
GONE! All that is gone!!!!! NO more! The Group has not had a H-Party since! No one can match what I used to do.
They wouldn't have to--but no one has picked it up.
This is all I am doing this year!!! If I get 4 or 5 trick-or-treaters each year--that is about it! We now have an older neighborhood. People also do not take their kids out on the street all that much any more.
BOOOOOO----Gita
very cool Gita!!... if you need a home for your decorations... I have an address!!
:)
here are some more videos I took... sorry my camcorder skills are not as good as my photos!!.. the link starts the newest one

Allison, That is totally cool! Are you finished yet?
Gita, you would think that at least 1 of those party poopers would pick up the torch. What's with everybody???
no not done yet... Randy was out building a tree to hang a noose from today.. he has a creepy guy that has his own rope
we have some last min. things we are going to put out .. the couple expensive things we have.. we still have a ton of little things to do and I am still programming songs.. but Randy got a lot of work done this week.. hung a few more of the ghouls I made.. put out a 6 foot bat... a lot of small things too.. messing with the lights STILL... hopefully he can still get to fix the Frankenstein.. but looks like we will be on hold for a few days with the rain
Allison, Wow lots of work. Is it Christmas before you get it all down and put away or do you turn it into the "Nightmare before Christmas". LOL I give you a lot of credit for your enthusiasm and hard work.
And should I be surprised !! LOL
Wow, you got hit before me, ours is coming tonight ! Sob : (
so many things I still wanted to bring in... oh well
Allison, A lot of them might still be OK. Your Santa is Hilarious!!
Oh no Lady, Your snow always seems to stick around.
What great decorations. Gita and Onewish1 your houses look great. I think Ric and I would do more than we do if we had more kids to enjoy it. Our small neighborhood doesn't have trick & treaters any more. We really miss it, Ric use to dress up and scare the kids we had spooky music and great treats at our house. Even back then we didn't get a lot of kids maybe 25-30 at most. Last year the only one was our GS. We still decorate but not quite as much as before. I still don't have anything up yet but should by the end of today, at least inside. This rain is giving me some time to do a bit of inside work. We did get the house plants back inside and a bit more organized. Today I will be packing up the summer decorations and Ric will bring down the Halloween boxes. I'll try to have some pics later next week, we are having computer issues I can't download new pics and it will be in the shop earlier in the week.
thank you Holly... can't wait to see your pics
ok kids... buckle up... here are some photos... we still are not done.. but almost there.. the real good stuff is not going to be able to go out if it's raining on wed.. I am pouting.. but the good news is Randy was able to fix Frankenstein... he is good!!

Allison, that is wild, but oh so much work. You must be exhausted after New Years. LOL
Wow.
No cheesy fake spiderwebs for you folks! That's amazing... I guess my favorite is the "bat" creature in #54, and the undead rising from their graves. The gallows is nice, too. Kids must be afraid to knock on your door! I'm almost afraid to ask what you do for a jack-o'-lantern... or a costume!
Are those balloon flowers with the bright yellow foliage? They do look really nice this time of year. Most perennials kind of go out with a whimper, except some Geraniums and a few ferns. A rudbeckia turned a nice purple here.
here are last years pumpkins... looks like we aren't going to get to make any this year... just running out of time... and we don't dress up too much.. and if I do it's mild usually.. the spider webs were made using a thing called a web caster... it's a big glue gun that is hooked to an air compressor ... glue drips on the stream of air and shoots it out about 10 feet... I could not stop using it... I was webbing everything
there was only 1 little girl that was afraid to come up the driveway... I went and asked her which one scared her... she showed me... I told her to go punch it right in the face... "don't let that little guy get to you".... she cracked up after that.. and all was good
yes those are the balloon flowers... glad those are still standing... the ones in the back yard are mushy already.. they were good to help hold the cob webs
Randy made the gallows last week.. he is going to prop it up in our truck bed
Allison, That really is a lot of fun. I can't believe that you didn't win first prize.
oh we don't know yet.. the judging is on wed
No, I meant last year. Good luck. Hope you win!
thanks!
Randy and I are beaming with joy... we were able to get all the good stuff out.. the rain stopped just in time!!... we had to run and hide when we saw the bus of judges pull up.. but we were able to get out mostly everything.. I think we only missed two small things... the kids were going nuts... and the adult judges were going crazy as well... we are so happy!!
here are some more shots with the new stuff

There is some Major creepiness going on there!
Allison, That's really great stuff. Hope you win!!
Allison, WOW! I've been following along but took some time this morning to look at every single picture - incredible! You SHOULD win - decorating for Halloween is one thing but your imagination is wild - amazing details! With all those spooky creatures, the one that creeped me out the most - the "real" face in the center of the crowd?? LOL Good luck and we'll be anxious to hear the judges' results!
thank you... I can't wait for halloween now!!.. the real looking one was one of the cheapest things I bought... I just have to find a way to keep the hair off the face.. it tends to just cover it up when the wind blows
LOL, I had to go back and look at Page #1 because I didn't remember seeing that "face" before! You're right, the hair was covering it up :)
it needs a hair tie... I think I payed $5.00 for that thing... really can't complain
:)
Allison, Even if you don't win, the whole experience is lots of fun, for you, for us and I'm sure for all who see it, especially the kids!
oohhh I am surprised Jen didn't chime in to tell you guys already (I texted her this afternoon)... we won 1st place!!!!
don't know what the prize is yet.. my moment of a prize was the guy Randy talked to on the phone said hands down and unanimously ... that's all I needed!!!
:)
I didn't want to steal your thunder. ☺
you could never do that my dear
YAHOO!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!
