If you would like to go back to volume #244, the following link will take you back in time: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1037931/
I’ve been busy recently, and haven’t been taking many pictures, or keeping up very well with the Bird Watching form. But, I do have a few recent pictures to start off the new volume. Now, show off the best of what you have been shooting.
A picture of a Rufous Hummingbird, taken this summer in Seward, AK at Ava Eads.

Boy Gary, wonderful start. Love the variety and the color!
So… I was outside looking for a hummingbird while standing with my camera in my hand. When suddenly I heard the tiniest little cheep cheep noise.
I looked up and what do you know? A new bird for my life list!
Northern Parula female (correct me if I'm wrong).
She's adorable! I can't believe how lucky I was. She just sat above me and posed. Snapped off several pictures, but this was the best.
Congratulations Marna!
Great pics Gary! Thanks for starting the new thread.
Very nice photos, ya'll

Love the Rufus Gary! Great start for a new thread.
Congrats Marna!!! I have been hoping to one of those myself!!
Last night around 7 pm I was walking...did not take the camera which was a big mistake! There was a flock of assorted warblers all over! They were on the road and everywhere...TOTALLY UNREAL!!!!! I saw an adult Chestnut-sided not 5 feet from me! AND NO CAMERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!aarrrrgh....I almost cried I tell ya.
Any way spotted a Wilson's Warbler this morning.
The queen of warblers with no camera? gasp! that's heartbreaking. Maybe they'll stick around for a while.
It's not a bird, but this little Least Weasel was so dag-darned cute I just had to share it with you.
I'd gone down to the creek bed to see if the birds were moving yet, and this fellow (?) scurried into a brush pile. My waiting paid off when he reappeared and paid me little mind. Though it was not quite light enough for photo's, and most were not good, I shot 152 images of this cutie!
Only twice before in my life had I seen one of these.
Agreed, the little fella is too cute for words, lol. Thank you for sharing his pix. I have never seen one in person.
Good to see you back, Gary. Wonderful birds to start the new thread.
What a delightfully pretty little bird your Parula is, Mrs Ed.
Tiger, that looks like one very large cat. Is it likely that it's feral?
Beautiful pix, Burn. I see it's beginning to get a bit chilly up your way.
Neighbors and I are in disagreement about this cat. It was born to their female, which they refused to spay, and she always comes here to give birth. I've buried all the littermates of this one, after they got in the highway or inside my fence with my dachsies. This cat isn't large, no. It knows where the food comes from, (I can't let anything be hungry!) and after 6-7 months allowed me to touch it. I can now even pick him up sometimes, but he's not thrilled with that. This young tom has adopted his moms younger litter, and is great with them..........while they live.

Nice shots everyone!
Tiger, he is adorable!
Thanks, Resin.
Tigerlily,
I like you Weasel picture. It seems to be fairly common for bird photographers to photograph weasels, while looking for birds. This is a shot of one I took a year ago. It just walked through a spider web, and is trying to lick the web off it's face. The president of the Anchorage Audubon Society posted a picture of a weasel on our local birding forum two weeks ago. Now my goal is to photograph one in its white winter coat. The last two white weasels I've seen were moving too fast for picture. The last one ran across the road in front of the truck carrying a large vole in it's mouth.
Thanks, Gary. ;-) They are such cute little things! I posted more pix on the wildlife forum under "Seldom Seen".
