How to use search

I want to see if there are any cabbage suggestions in the cooking or recipe forum. How do I use the search? Elaine

I went to the Recipe Forum: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/recipes/all/
Typed in Cabbage and clicked on Search which took me here, on the top left where it says Limit to threads in which forum: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/search.php?q=Cabbage&submit=%28%3A+Search+forums+%3A%2 I scrolled down to recipes and it took me to a list of threads that showed some with cabbage.

Hope I explained that right ... I'm not good at explaining things, LOL.

Elaine, I just re-read my above post and I sure hope you could make sense of it, LOL. I hope you found some cabbage recipe's!

I love cabbage, both cooked and raw but don't make it often because my husband says he doesn't like it. My best friends husband doesn't like cabbage either so every so often she will make ham and cabbage for the two of us and we will cook something else for the guys.

I have a recipe somewhere around here that my sister gave me years ago for a soup that uses shredded cabbage. She calls it Potato-Cabbage Soup. The original recipe called for ham but I always use chicken. It's really good and the first time I made it I didn't tell my hubby that it had cabbage in it ... and he loved it! Hopefully we will have some nice fall type weather down our way in then next month or so and I can make a big pot of soup!

Everything folks said above is true, but be aware that if you put something in "Search DG", as contrasted with "Search forums," it will not search the forums. There may be other things that it doesn't search alos, dunno. I'm not sure how this could be improved. "Search DG except for forums" sounds a little klunky.
