Oh I see the date on my camera is wrong... grrr.... oh well still a nice morning... heres one more.I took on Aug 3rd of the sun coming up over our hay field(which explains the ugly trailer in the middle of the field...The tall grass in the middle is a infested with yellow jackets which explains why its still standing. No one here brave enough to cut that spot.. ......Our property goes all the way over to the barn top you can see, then we have 20 acres of woods where my boys hunt and another 40 acres of pasture land beside the woods... 120 acres total land to play on... Ha I'd rather see it filled with flowers...

Looks like a hibicus to me.

venice I am about 175 to 200 miles south west of you so I am farther south.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Oooooooooh! I thought I looked Washington up on Mapquest and I must have gotten mixed up. 6a Wow, I should have recognized that.

Your flowers are so pretty! Great colors and they look very healthy.

Hunny bunch, that is a double confederate rose.

Looks like someone has pulled your leg. The leaves look like confederate rose and it's time for blooms from those also. They come in single bloom and double. They will start out one color then change colors and as other flowers come on it looks like you have a multicolored bush. They are really pretty, but definately not a brug.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

Hey cue are you on here? Hey you got something coming and I know what it is!!!!!! hehehe

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Oh yeah, flower! She doesn't have a clue though does she - lol?!?!

Montrose, AR(Zone 8a)

Thank You Jan... I cant wait till there is a bunch of blooms on the bush.... Yeah the Lady who gave it to me passed away Aug 4th.. She helped me dig it up from her neighbors house... She thought It was brug she had started for her...I do have a nice cutting from her yellow brug growing, but I don't think It will flower this year...We just started it 2 months ago.. But it has a new set of leaves and is thriving ..Hope it makes it thru the winter outside.. I planted it in the ground.. Hers just comes up and grows with no care at all...Hope mine is that tough!!

Here

Here is a picture of my gourds that came up voluntarily (kids crushed some there last year).. DH hates them because he cant finish the porch till they have finished growing lol.. I cut them down 3 times with weedeater.. finally decided to let them grow...They were small in the last picture I sent... Here they are today...Amazing how fast they grow in a few months..

I planted snake gourds this year, they are running but no gourds yet, but they were only planted about4 weeks ago. Looking pretty good though. I leave all my brugs in the ground and they do just fine. Your climate is cooler than mine so I'd probably cut off at ground level and cover with leaves for the winter. Then after last frost uncover and the plants will start again. I'll keep my red one in this year because it is so small, but come spring out the door it goes.
Yea, CUE, The cat is out of the bag. We know a secret.

Montrose, AR(Zone 8a)

I have ornamental gourd seeds if any one would like to have some....A whole basket of different gourds nice and dry and ready to share there seeds... I didn't grow any snake gourds tho...Maybe next year...

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

Oh ! You should see my gourd vine. I planted it just on one side of the porch and it has literally covered the side and they are the big bushel basket gourds. Out of all the blooms there isn't but maybe 3 or 4 gourds on it though and man do those vines stink when you touch them Yuck !!!!!!!!!!! I'll never do that again.
