Haven't had in years

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

I'll have to try the Snicker bar Jen.Sounds good.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

The only complaint I have about them is that they are too small.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

I remember buying 6 candy bars, they were about three times larger what they are now, for the price or 5 at 25 cents. Now doesn't that tell you how old I am? lol

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Don't remember Squirrel Nuts.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I was addicted to C. Howard's Scented Gum for a long long time

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Oddly enough Squirrel Nuts brings another image to mind lol

Squirrel Nuts

The Bazooka Gum brings back memories. Bazooka Joe comics. The gum was always dry and hard.

I saw a program the other day where a guy had collected all the Cracker Jack surprises. The collection was worth thousands. Who wooda thunk it?

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

skybars.... skip the vanilla square or trade it with some poor unsuspecting slob for another caramel one....

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yes those were good

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

I love Skybars!! I'll take the vanilla too!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I put pop rocks in my sisters mouth when she was sleeping... she made a lot of noise!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

You're bad!
Wasn't there one called volcano dust, also?

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thank you, I was trying to remember the name for Sky Bar. I especially liked the caramel, too.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I lived on Bazooka gum!! Scooter pies were good too...they have something like that now I think they are called moon pies. Certainly doesn't taste the same!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Randy loves Charleston chews

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh Jen another rip your fillings out candy!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Great when you were losing baby teeth.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL

South Hamilton, MA

Not so great if you bite in & a crown comes loose. I no longer eat carmels even if sugar free.

The wax lips I can remember. In the same time it was little wax bottles you sucked on. Probaby pure sugar in those days.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Jen, those BB bats look familiar. I think we called them Sugar Daddys and the candy bean was a Sugar Baby. Was that the same thing?

Yes, to the Scooter pies!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Check out these yummies in Grand Central!

Looks like a bunch of cupcakes with a bunch of colored topping.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Maybe to some.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

All that sugar, what a rush!
Sugar Daddies and Suger babies are different. I think size had to do with it. Daddys were on a stick, and I think the babies were not.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Oh my teeth hurt!! Sugar Mamas were chocolate covered Sugar daddies...sooo good!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Sugar daddies were carmel with the stick

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

atomic fireballs, Mary Janes, licorice pipes or whips.

There was also a chocolate cow or slo cow. Anyone remember?

Maria, I remember the nickle candy bars too. (I'm 54) One of our corner stores also had a fudge sickle for a nickle.(they were a dime all the other places)

Speaking of candy prices, I am shocked and amazed at the prices in movie theatres!

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

You Too? I never buy snacks in the movies. It cost more than the admission ticket. There's a dollar store near my theatre that sells candy and junk food. I always stop in there and load up before going into the movie.

Licorice pipes were good. Lasted a long time and you could get enough to share with friends. Unless you just called, NO Hegees! Which meant "I'm not sharing, don't ask for any!" Don't know where that term came from but we used it all the time :-)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

don't forget the sugar babies!!!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

There is a Walgreen's next to our theatre. Everyone stops there before the movies. They made the Walgreen's plaster signs all over stating it was illegal to bring their candy to the movies. Of course, everyone obeys ;)

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Ha! Of course.

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

We always smuggle in our candy at a movie..lol! I remember (and I think they are still out there), Cow Tails... carmel with the yummy white filling..

There was this gum that tasted like wintergreen (sort of) and it was shaped like a mini hot dog... Twas yummy

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yes... one of my favs

NECCO WAFFERS!
I still loves those. I remember when I was a kid (long time ago) I would have nickel. I would go to the local pool and spend 2 pennies to get into the pool and then put the three remaining pennies in my sneakers. After swimming I would go to the candy store across the street and spend several minutes trying to decide how to spend my 3 pennies on candy. I always bought Necco Waffers and used my last penny for something else.
This was a very important decision because I wouldn"t get another nickel till the following week.
And sometimes if you were VERY LUCKY you might find a penny on the ground. Oh happy day!
Chuck

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

LOL! Yup! I remember those rich penny days.
