Is there a candy, food, drink that you remember from when you were a kid you haven't had in years?
I remember Hostess Chocodiles. They were the best frozen.
You can find anything on line, I may have to order some.

Haven't had in years
Ding Dongs and Barrel Head rootbeer.
Candy cigarettes.
Ding Dongs were so much better than Ring Dings.
I remember those candy cigs too.
Love that cigar gum! Banana was my favorite!
some Wax Lips.. lol!
I think the "Red Hots" were hard cinnamon candy... also yummy.. that and Hot Tamales I loved them both! We had a candy store about 1 1/2 miles from the house when I was a kid. I would ride my bike there with a handful of change (mostly pennies) and stock up on penny candy.... the gold old days!!
You guys are killin me.
When I read the title of the thread( Something you havnt had in years)
I wondered how any of us could illustrate the unmentionable, with out getting our membership revoked. LOL
joann, victor will figure that out
he! he! he!
I was wondering if anyone would catch it.
Nice pick up Bill
either that or some comment that he knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about what you were referring too:)
he's more saavy than that
AND
We all know it
funny!
Funny!!!
Teaberry gum
I had to come up with a title that would get everybody to look.
teaberry gum??? that's a new one for me.
Anyone remember Sen Sen?
I tried Teaberry gum and didnt like flavors.
Sen-Sen was a really acid licorice in small pillow form wasnt it?
I remember now.
Hee hee! Of course I thought Jen was having some problems when I saw the title! ^_^
Can never have enough Ho-ho's!
Pop Rocks were weird! Personal explosives.
I loved Red Hots - always like cinnamon stuff. Loved Cadbury chocolates, Ring Dings, Yodels, etc. Never liked Twinkies - too sweet.
I loved the old Cadburrys when they were really made in England. They are owned by someone else now as is everything.
Quality suffers when that happens.
Probably made in a sweatshop in China - with extra lead!
I know for sure that Hersys adds wax to their chocolate, some sort of a stabilizer, might be so it ships and packages easier, longer shelf life etc.
For sure its not to make the customer like it any better.
I get the idea the customers taste is low on the list where product is concerned.
ewwww, wax in their chocolate? I was upset when they all started using the fake Vanilla.
Also if you buy Hershey check the pack to see where it's made, they bought a chocolate company in Mexico so they are making some of their products there...ummmm hello, your plant is only 3 hours away from me and I have to get mine from Mexico...no thanks! and yes it does taste different.
Ther is a candy store by Cleveland,OH that has alot of the old style and brands of candy. It's really neat. They also have stuff with insects inside the lollypops.. Yuck!
I ate Cadbury chocolate in England.... sure didn't taste the same as here. We must have brought home 5 lbs of chocolate! yummy.
no bugs
I eat enough in the garden
Check this out.... it's about 40 minutes south of here.... Talk about a kid in a candy store.. lol!

I have to get out of here.Too many temptations
We don't have to talk candy... we can do food or drinks....
We had a Liquor store where we used to live that sold soda in glass bottles by case(you'd could buy it mix and match flavors) and we'd bring the crate and bottles back to exchange.
Our Acme is selling a new line of seltzers and the black raspberry tastes EXACTLY like a soda we used to get.... brought me back 30 years.
I had the world's best Italian ice and pastry place in Astoria. It's still there.

yum!!!
I've been looking for a cookie for years...Sunshine Bisquit used to make them(one of their plants was in my town growing up) loved going past there when the cookies were baking.
A simple swirled top vanilla cookie, you can find them now in most bakeries but they have jelly or chocolate in the middle and usually have an almond flavor...the ones I remember were simple vanilla pure white cookie... oh my gosh they were so good. Still trying to find some bakery somewhere that makes them.
Stella D'oro had a place near Manhattan College. Would always smell the baking while waiting for the subway.
I bought my nieces & nephews boxes from this place for christmas one year

Those wax things were nasty!
The 5 cent ice cream cone. That's never coming back.
Squirrel nuts (Yes, the name leaves something to be desired)
Loved Squirrel Nuts. Two for a penny candy in a little brown paper bag. Barrells and those wax candies with not enough juice in them. I think my favorite was the 5cent bag of Wise potato chips. There was a distribution warehouse near where we lived and we would go and stand around outside until some kind employee came and gave us freebies.
Italian icies were to die for. The man with the cart shaving the ice and picking a flavor to go on it. There was nothing better on a hot summer day.
Forgot to mention...yesterday I stopped in the 7/11 and bought a Twix ice cream bar. Boy oh boy was that good! Just like the candy bar but with ice cream. Totally decadent..yummm.
I like those Snicker ice cream bars too...
Don't get me started on ice cream...that is my weakness.
We had the best ice cream man when I was little, his name was Ozzie.
