Rain since 7am this morning, steadily increasing throughout the day, slight winds to 5mi/hr, but felt a few wind gusts on the highway, no torrential rain as yet. 71°
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 52
raining here now - sox just won a papelbon whit knuckler
it rained here 1/2 the day yesterday.... going to be hit or miss today... looks like they are not expecting it to be as bad as they thought... my alarms are all gone... we will see... 67 now going up to 77
Cool and rainy... hate to say it but.... we needed the rain. Hopefully Sunday will be nice.... What usually happens, is when school starts (next Thursday)...we get a late season heat wave...
School started here this past Wed. which was 84°. DGD was not happy......she likes school but if it's over 80° she's in the pool for the day. lol Check out the humidity below. lol
Raining here and 52°
Barometer:30.13 in and steady
Humidity:94%
Visibility:10 mi
Dewpoint:50°
Wind:ENE 5 mph
Sunrise:5:57 am
just checked ours Pixie.. we are at 97% now... amazing
I guess I shouldn't be that shocked....it is after all raining. lol
I should be upset that it's raining though, I don't have any shopping or wedding prep that needs to be done today so I could work in my garden. But a day of relaxation with a movie or a book is not hurting my feelings any. ^_^

The rain has not missed us once this summer---complained to my DS last night about the awful weather---he was working in Williamstown, MA where it was 75 & sunny---he didn't hit rain until Grt Barrington! Today they're taking the kids to the Norwalk Aqu. to pet a penguin, or something--great weather for penguins! I'm not overjoyed, can you tell?
Yeah rain over night. Not much but its a start. Scheduled to get 4-6 inches starting late this am. We really need it here. Low 60s for temp and the humidity here is 99%. WE have flood warnings. Not expecting much high wind gusts here like out on the cape and islands could get. Danny is just a normal nor'easter now. Sun should be back tomorrow.
Six tenths of an inch so far. I like it when it starts off slowly to get the top soil damp before the heavy stuff. It sinks in better.
Poor Sarah, she truly dreads rain, shakes visibly with fear in thunder. I have dogie Valium for her but she gets so lethargic I wonder which is worse.
Andy P
I know what you mean Andy, 2 out of 4 of my dogs are deathly afraid of thunder! Tia is almost 13 and I worry that she'll have a heart attack during a strom when i'm not home. I always try to be here but you never know when a random one will pop up!
We got about .04" so far here. I agree specially after no rain for so long a nice slow gentle rain helps like you say when the heavy stuff starts. Rain is more steady now but not torrential yet, but you can hear and see it is picking up some now. Hope not much thunder so Sarah can take a nice restful nap until it all passes. My cats hit the cellar if it is really close and loud, I am sometimes not far behind them. LOL
Busy rain--i.e. steady
Light wind, 68F, moderate rain, 1 inch in the rain gage.
Just watched Teddy's send off and the heavy rain seems to have waited just long enough. It is starting to get harder now. No wind to speak of and still low 60s. The yellow radar blobs are approaching you up there in Brockton Andy. So far no thunder. Sarah will be glad to hear.
RIP Mr. Kennedy
Rain last night & all day so far. temp-63
Rainy day, but we got the Yankee game in. Had a great time. The stadium is very nice. We had good seats - with nice padded chairs! And what a game. 10-0 and a one-hitter by the staff. Incredible - I'm a Mets fan, yet I have been at Yankee stadium for Righetti's no-hitter and now this.
Here's Jeter laying down a bunt.

The wind has picked up, not bad though. 2.7 inches so far, I love a rain gage. No thunder here, either.
Sarah had an unexpected pleasure, old friends popped by. They brought their laptop so we could edit some grandson pics. Darn cute baby.
Nice shot Victor! Padded seats! Nice! lol!
Rain ended here, 3/4" rain total, never had any appreciable wind with the storm here.
Thanks, WC! I posted a few more on the Coffee Break thread. Yes, I was pleasantly surprised at the seats. Also had a person come around and take orders for (grossly overpriced) food and drinks.
gloomy--61 degrees. Rain coming this evening, but should only hit SE MA.
Thanks, Celeste. Weather getting nice here. A wonderful week on tap!
Still cloudy and damp here after about 3 to four inches of rain yesterday. Yeah! Hoping for some sun later maybe to get temps up to mid 70s. Only 66 degrees now with no wind at all. Next week looks really nice with drier and cooler air and plenty of sunshine all week. Cool nights to open window for sleeping. Nice.
upper 60's here. For us this is Oct. weather, not late Aug. Oh well could be 90's, glad it's not!
Yes - don't complain!
Beautiful day today.
Man - it's now dark by 7:30 - yuck!!
Weather is great though. 67, dry and clear (and dark).
Cleared off nicely today, & I drove up to the farm for the last of the blueberries---got enough for cereal & muffins....DS's fil has extended some rows ---more bushes going in!
They're calling for 40's tonight. A little soon for that, hopefully the Lake will help keep us warmer.
chilly morning but feels nice... 59... going up to 74
54 right now... high of 72. Nice and dry... love it!
Agree!
I thought it was supossed to be a beautiful day today, it's nasty.... cold, damp and cloudy.
Sunny mid 60s and nice dry air. Beautiful!
Nasty here right now---50's, cloudy, & a sharp NW wind----had to close the windows!
Sunny, but the grass is still wet so garden difficult to reach until afternoon. That is why I am typing :)
overcast here right now - supposed to be sunny - maybe a chance to get a few pictures
