Pictures to share!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

It's pretty darned hot here too.
Can't wait to have some soup too!

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

Let's hope it will cool off by then so we can enjoy a hot bowl of your delicious soup.

Just a minute, did I read that right? Weegy complaining about heat? Pick me up off the floor!!!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I've gotta agree with Weege...the heat is a little much at the moment. 103* yesterday and it was probably the same today.

A can of WD40 exploded in my truck today when I had it locked up.
Now nothing squeeks inside anymore. lol

LOL Mike!

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

I'm complaining it's too hot, and I never complain about the heat. I think it's the heat/smoke combo that got to me today.
Did a can of WD40 really explode in your truck? Where did you have it parked? The visual, the cleanup, sounds like a great 3 stooges episode.
As you say JD, at least nothing inside squeaks now. I sure hope you had leather or vinyl seats though.
I got to quit saving the best for last and start reading my dessert first.

Yeah, it really did explode. I was parked in an alley on fresh blacktop. The WD40 was on the dashboard. My truck is black and it was over 100* outside...which must have made the interior about 130* I had a can of menthol shaving cream do the same thing once, in the summer in Woodland Hills.

And they say we never learn from our past mistakes.....snort....

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 9b)

Must remind Blooms not to carry WD40 in car! If that isn't teaching a dog to suck eggs.

I had a diet cola explode in front of the passenger's heat vent in the winter once, driving to Moab for Xmas break. Sticky yucky.

Yep spin, it was a Dr Pepper for me. Happened in Arizona in the summer and it was in a WHITE truck parked in the shade. (of course it was 115 degrees out)

Inevitability: If you're working on your car, after your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch and you'll have to pee.

Ask a simple question, and I get back some great stories and more laughs. : - )
I've never had anything explode in the car (except perhaps me), but once during a very hot October we had a Big Mac explode while it was sitting in the shade under the oak trees. Some of the seeds had already sprouted. Most odd.
BTW, the other night my eldest son comes out of the bathroom demanding to know if I bought the menthol shaving cream. I replied that his brother must have chosen it. To which he stated with the utmost disgust that it was absolutely horrible. I just snickered.
Were you all ever able to get the various odors out of the car?
All desert rats like their white trucks/jeeps don't we, DP? I was wondering if you'd confuse the initials for the drink instead of an abbreviation for DesertPirate, now I know. (Snicker, says the girl who exploded the can of soda in the freezer, duh!)
Crystalspin~Moab, did you say Moab? I loved visiting there! I love the deserts. Even the cold ones. Are you from there? It's got a lot of history, and I hope it is still a nice small town.
I noticed you never answered my question about the seat covers. JasperDale, did you have to get them shampooed?
Man oh man, on the dash! You're lucky it didn't crack the windshield.
Glad you are okay, as funny as the stories are, heat in the car can be a killer.

I'm originally from the Adirondacks in upstate NY, but Blooms (my mom, BloomsWithaView) moved to Moab in 1978 and one by one her three children joined her there. I continued out to SoCal for college and stayed after meeting my husband to be.

But we own property in Moab and are planning for there to be our homebase after DH retires (in a few years). It's growing, though; depending on when you visited you might not recognize it.

I was a frequent visitor to the Moab area in the early 80's, while studying geology at college. Fascinating geology in that area, not to mention all the great history, especially the Hollywood movies that were filmed out that way. I have recognized some of them hills in old cowboy movies. I'm sure that it has changed. It used to be pretty much a one horse town and they rolled up the sidewalks about 6:00 pm. Really nice and friendly folks though.
Everything changes over time. Sigh.
My Dad was a DG member (trois), and he turned me onto this website. Or rather you inherited me when he passed away last year. Both are valid statements. : - )
Funny how that is working isn't it. I know of several families that keep in touch with each other on DG over any other website.
I really like the So Cal forum, and some of the photography forums. For the most part it's been a good experience and so many wonderful people have helped me out.
I talk too much, and I need to go check on some water. LOL!
