Here is the new thread. Great job on the last one everyone! We came from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1027738/
This pic of the seagull is during sunset at the point in Stone Harbor last Monday night. It was a beautiful time.
DAILY PICS VOL. 239
I was just out watering the tomato plants when a pair of Calif. Quail came out from under them, leading two very young chicks ( porbably one day old ). Kind of late to be hatching isn't? Of course I didn't have my camera with me.
I like the sunset picture pelle. Nice rich colors.
Margaret, Lovely shots! Of course I have a soft spot for the Willie Wagtail but the Shrike is so handsome!
Thanks for the compliment, Teresa (by the way, I'm a Teresa also)...and Margaret, love those birds you get down there, that Shrike is wonderful. Love the Yellow Warbler, burn!
Beautiful Red-shouldered Hawk GP!
Teresa, I think you did very well with that shot!
Burn, Love your Yellow Warbler and your nice assortment of Woodpeckers!
Great pictures everyone. Margret you do get some really cool birds we never see on the gulf coast. The little willy wagtail is too cute and I think the shrike is very sleek.
Thanks folks. Al, that shot is incredibly sharp. Love that tongue.
We went out to a large lake a few days ago. I had plans to take lots of photos of some fabulous birds. It was such a gloomy, dull and miserable day, I only managed a few shots, including this Little Corella staking claim to a nest hollow in anticipation of Spring, which is almost here.
My goodness, Margaret! I love that natural setting of the Parrot! So lovely!
Al, we've a little 'cool front' for the weekend. I'm so tempted to set out my suet feeder to lure my Redbellied WP back, I haven't seen them at all this year.
Beautiful pix everyone.
I really wanted to get some good pix of the Musk Ducks, but I wasn't able to so these will have to suffice for the time being. The male puts on the most flamboyant mating display. He has this big fleshy lobe under his bill, which becomes very prominent during mating. The males also lift themselves out of the water with their tiny wings outstretched and their butts in the air with their little tail feathers splayed outwards and throw themselves back onto the lake surface with an exaggerated splash, all the time making this indescribable, bell-like pinging sound. All very appealing to the females.
Margaret, now that is an amazing duck!
They sure are amazing!! Are they polygomous? LOL
They really are fascinating, Little_things. I haven't seen any of your amazing birds recently. Have you been out and about recently? If you have, we'd all love to see what you've been seeing.
Sorry, Lily, cross posted. There were two females in these shots, but at one stage there were three. Resin would probably be the one to provide an answer.

Thanks Margaret for your response. Hope Resin will offer some insight pertaining to the subject.
Al the doves shots are so clear and crisp! Beautiful!
The Roadrunner is striking! Nice job Teresa!
