Yes. She handled the dogs well. They didn't get too scared either.
NE Forum Pets!
When the sun hits her she tends to glow!
What beautiful animals---Maureen, so sorry about Trixie---we never have enough time with them. And all of you folks are so wonderful to adopt these animals. Jumper, your horse is a beauty, & so well behaved!
Thanks
nice Maureen... your horse is very pretty... and strong looking!
Oh she is! That head weighs a ton when she wants it to!
i know just what you mean
Thought you might! hee hee.
Thanks for your kind words.
Maureen
Glad that you have Eddie so have someone to purr in the house. I am interested also about 'his' quilt. I think that my grandmother had that pattern.
Boy, you have a good eye! it does have a name and I cna't remember it.
The pattern was so familiar, don't know about quilt patterns. Someone told Jumper 2 that it was Job's Tears? Last word may not be correct. Anyway, Eddie looks comfortable.
That pattern is different than grandmother's. It looks very simmilar to Job's tears that a quilter showed me. The pattern IrisMA is thinking of has the diamond pieces pieced not one piece as Eddie's quilt is. Nice kitty and quilt.
Very similar to the untrained eye (me). Apoligise to Eddie.
Why am I apoligizing to Eddie?
Because I didn't get the right pattern of his quilt--close but not correct according to jumper 2.
Luvsgrtdanes... been considering a bull dog in the family... would love to hear more about them as pets... Everyone has such cute pets...... Glad to see there are lots of cat lovers.... they all look well loved.
Leighton, my next door neighbors breed English bulldogs----most are very sweet, but no loyalty---they'll go off with anyone----they have breathing problems, heat & cold problems---my neighbors love them to pieces, but they've lost 2---one to heat stroke, & a mother to a blood clot after a c-section---they can't deliver normal way---also, I don't think they have a long life span. That said, I know many people who would not have any other kind of dog.
Loyalty is an issue.... for me anyways... I've had German Shepherds all my life so that is one of my key traits in an dog friend. I just think bulldogs in general are soooo cute. Spooky is cute.... seams to like the camera. I think cats enjoy being "posers".. lol Robindog, What kind of a dog is Robs?
He's an airedale---rescued---we were his 4th home by the time he was 17 months old---apparently abused & neglected, he doesn't trust anyone except us. He is 7 now---our other rescue, Suey, is a German shorthair mix---she's 5, & loves everyone. Robs is my 3rd airedale, my DH's 6th, but we'd never get another----very active, look at other animals as prey, but ---they are very humorous--he loves to entertain us, & is very smart. He adores Suey.
Love German Shepards but find them to be a one-man-dog. At least that was my experience with T.J.(Thomas Jefferson) he only listened to DH. Maybe it was me....too soft. lol
Loyalty is a must here too....Chinooks fill that postion well.
DH was layed up for 8 -16 weeks after each surgery(he had 6) Jake never left his side except to go to the bathroom.^_^
What a great dog! Some are so empathetic---
Wonderful pictures everyone. It took me a long time to adopt cats again after mine died -broke my heart. I'm glad I finally gave in. I adopted these two strays in June when they were about 5 weeks old. No idea of the parents. They were bottle fed by the family I took them from. They are the most loving companions.
adorable!!!
Hi Anita!
Very cute.
Hi Anita!! Beautiful kittens!
What a beautiful pair.
Very sweet. I can remember telling someone to change coat colors after their dacshund died. Oh no, it had to be black & tan. They were sorry afterwards as it wasn't a very bright dog compared to the first one. If they had tried a red, the contrast wouldn't have been so bad. The kitties look like they will be great companions.
I love those kitties!
I love kittens, but then someone else can have them when they get big.
Anita, I love the pic in front of the glass door. What cuties! I'm experimenting with collages and tried one with a pic of Osee as a stray about a month after he started hanging in my yard next to one about a year later, as King of the Castle. Hope this works. It really shows the difference between living as a stray compared to living in a loving home. Yay, it worked!!
Wow!!
What a difference!
It is pretty amazing! I was shocked when I saw the photos side by side.
Wow, it is a big difference! Anita, how super to have adopted those kitties---and Iris, I agree. If you get the same dog---you are not getting the same dog. My DH's niece in NH wanted a collie just like the one who died--well, guess what---they are totally different in personality.
But, one never knows. I had 2 great dogs, 1 was a GSD, George (died older in 2000) and the other a black lab (died young in 2001). After Charcoal , the Lab, died I was desperate to get another dog and adopted a GSD mix from a shelter. She was nothing like George and needed months of rehab just to learn how to be a dog again as she had been abused. A year later I decided I was ready to get another Lab. I was contacted to come get a black Lab that was homeless in Ohio. I drove out there with Casey and got Dexter. I SWEAR Dexter is the reincarnation of Charcoal. The same sweet nature, blinding devotion, goofiness, and huge heart. Ya just never know ^_^
I agree with 'you never know'. Rumor [my big handsome boy] is the reincarnation of my Midnite. The only difference is the white on the chest. Thanks all. Pets definitely make it all worth while!
I agree with strays vs loving home....lucky kitty
I see halloween candy!!
chocolate too! DH loves his Halloween candy.
I love Halloween!
I wait 'til the day before, buy a whole pile of things on sale and then sit in the dark Halloween night with the doors locked and eat them all...hehehe
