I like that Gardenwife. I'll have to adopt that saying!

cambridge md, MD(Zone 7a)

Tamberlin, no she is not a small cat it is a flower pot in the shape of a cup and saucer that I found at Wallmart.... I got several of them and used them as presents for christmas, filling them with goodies for my tea drinking friends... they really made an impact , and Lucie love them too.

Crash is kissable... well if I weren't allergic

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Sniff would match the floor too!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee - I think the flash may be at fault there.

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

onewish - kitties are still kissable if you're allergic, just wash up afterward...if you're good and actually do it. I gave in and got a cat even though I knew I was allergic. I wonder how much better my other allergies would be if I don't get another cat after she passes (boo-hoo), but how can I not live without a cat??? too darn awesome, they are. and I'm allergic to dogs and rabbits too, so I'm screwed no matter what :)

Victor - adorable cats. not all cats are adorable. most but not all. and yours definitely are! oh how I want to scratch their heads...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Eve.

He looks baffled!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

trust me all I would have to do is walk into a house with cats or shedding dogs... and it feels like I got punched in the face within minutes... I don't need to touch them... it's really not all that bad ... I have seen a lot worse than me

Robs is cute!!!!

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

onewish - oh THAT kind of allergic. I'm terribly sorry to hear that!! reminder that the world is not fair. Allergies suck. My sympathies.

Tika and Shadow (aka, Shuggy).... partners in crime. Shadow came from the South... A shelter up here would travel down to get dogs before they got euthanized. He is the best family pet. Very loving. Tika is a crazy, fun, lovable friend. Since I'm done raising the two legged babies, she is the new four legged one. I also have four cats. I will find some pictures to post of them. They are all from the time when I was raising kittens for a local shelter. Its hard to keep "just one".. lol!!

This is Krieger and his cat, Bindi. They have been pals since introduction. If Bindi escapes outside, Krieger will stay with her until he drives her back into the house.

Poppy, a manx cat found at my friends house at York Beach. He was one of three. An very affectionate fellow. Unfortunately we have to get him shaved from time to time because his fur mats really bad.

This is Jim (or Jim Jim). He was found under a building we own as a baby with his semi feral mom. We couldn't figure out why we would find our place with stuff scattered about after we would leave and come back. One day, someone was working on the pipes under the building (5 foot crawl space) and he told us there was a cat with babies under the building. We captured them all and then took them to the shelter I volunteered for and they all got fixed and got their shots. My friend took the mother cat and she has come out of her shell. It took a long time but she is now a lovable house pet who never goes outside. Two of the three kittens were adopted out to people and I kept Jim. He was funny as a kitten. When we would go to get him to feed him, he would hiss and spit at us. He did that for quite a while. He now thinks of me as mom as I fed him with kitten replacement milk (first by bottle then out of a dish). He would put his whole face in the milk and his paws. He is now a much cleaner eater and a sweetie. He isn't fond of commotion or little people so he sometimes hides but he is a love.

Robin - I tried to get Andrew to wear a "halloween costume" = a dog t-shirt with bones on it - skeleton like. He just laid down and would not move an inch. All the kids came walking around to see him. As soon as I took the costume off, he was ready to go.
Smart dog.

Victor - your cats look at you with so much trust. You must be a good cat daddy.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Cat. They don't know any better!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Could be Sniff's third cousin.

Beautiful!

What a good idea. Where would we be without our critters?

Here's Trixie. She died 3 weeks ago after a long (18yr) life. Not long enough for me. tho. She was with me through so much, the one constant in my life for all those years. She was delighful from kittenhood on, and very much her own person excuse me, cat. I'm so grateful that she was healthy up till the last couple of weeks, and that she died in my arms.

And here's Eddie. He's so lonesome without his pal. he's a great cat getting on in years now, too. He's 15. and has had at least 15 lives so far. Quite the adventurer in his heyday, but now a house cat and happy enough to sit on my deck or in the window. Since Trixie died I've started calling him the velcro cat - always wants to be on me which is fine. I know he needs a new friend, I'm just not ready.

Sorry about Trixie.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Evie the worst part is the critters know I love them... and just flock to me... there is a dog i see once in a while at work and he just keeps trying to love me... I pet him and go wash my hands... but I can see the look in his eyes .. that he knows I want to roll around on the floor with him... too cute

Leighton you have a lot of cute babies there!!

Maureen sorry to hear about Trixie... it's never long enough

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

Yes,... sorry to hear about Trixie... Animals love us when seemingly, no one else does! You all have some adorable critters! I've been a critter lover since childhood. I used to come home with my pockets full of kittens as the neighbor did really horrendous things to kittens he didn't want (instead of fixing the mother cat).... My mom gave up trying to get me to give them up!

DD and Alice. At church we were asked if we could bring her. She was a crowd pleaser. The brick building behind the trees is the church.
