Soon?? or The Impatience of a Newbie
I love that, Dee. It is so restful.I know you were broke hearted to leave it. Did you know you can put you in a pond in a bucket?
You may have to try that.
Charleen, we keep cross posting ..lol..posting at the same time..
That is great. Can't have a home without some kind of water feature or two, or three :)
Ladies
those pond's are both georgeous, I guess I have to make a trip to HD, I didn't think of that, but it's worth a look, I see some Brugs in both your Pix, I also like the arrangements, neat, it's too bad my yard isn't as big as the acres, I have in KY, can't get my DH to live there
Elizabeth
elizabeth, the big pond in my pics was at our old place,We live on a small corner lot now, in town. I love Kentucky...It's beautiful. Can't imagine your husband not wanting to live there. Course. like I said I was born an Ohio hillbilly, SE hills, on the west virginia border.LOL
I still like both of your water features
Dee
you would flip if you could be here in my yard, it looks a lot bigger than it really is, because of all the tropicals, if I can't be in the tropics, I bring them too me
Charleen
there's a bit of truth too that, I sarted with 3 Brugs, now I am afarid too count, I have too call the local university, to see if they want a couple, that are over 6ft tall, my basement will only hold so many
Charlene, I really like all your water features.. I must have 5 or 6 table top ones, but I don't have them set up.Your brug is looking great! Remeber the broken one that I put in a hanging pot.The leaves are curling and looking horrible, but the bloom is just begining to open. If it does go ahead and bloom, I will cut it back to a normal cutting and defoliate it, afterward. Thanks,Eliazabeth. I am a tripical, nut too! Love em!
Dee
Aren't the edges on that bloom pretty? Don't know if it's just the morning light or what but I love it. Yes, it may be a good idea to go ahead and take those leaves off/
Ain't it wonderful to be nutty,I love it.
How tall is she? She is about the same color. You are going to have a beautiful jungle.
Charlene
it's about 5ft tall, I have 5 of the Frosty Pink, that need a home, FP is a realiable Bloomer, & bugs don't seem to bother it, you up for a road trip?
Elizabeth
Stop it , Elizabeth...you know I get tingly all over when I see pics of that many blooms!I may have to hitchhike down your way, and pick up one. Couldn't you see it now, trying to get a ride back, with one of those trees! I can hear the drivers now..."Look at that crazy old fat granny, tryin' to get a ride with that plant...Yep, there's a lot of crazies out there, now a days." lol
Dee
I don't know, someone out there might feel sorry fo a poor ol lady growin her own weed.
Them truckdrivers got Momma's. Might fight one that will keep his hands on the wheel and
take you home.
Dee
if you get a ride here, I'll take you & the plant home, I just dug 2 of them big Frosty Pinks up, hey Charlene, how far are you from Atlanta, my DD lives in Talmo Ga, it's about 70 miles north of Atlanta, I wish you both could come for a visit & take home a 5ft Frosty Pink, remind me not to take clippings, just compost them
Elizabeth
Elizabeth, I live on the southside of Atlanta. I will look it up, I believe Barnesville about 50 miles south down 19/41.
Our little town used to be" Buggy Capital of the world" You all come down and see our Festivities this month Sept.
You can look it up on internet for exact date, I'm sure. I'd love to visit, I bet we would have a grand time.
Elizabeth, you sure know how to tept a girl..lol
Dee
Charlene & Dee
I would love to come for a visit, but can't my DH, has to take care of his momma, he gets to come home during the day but he has to stay there at her house at night, there's no one else, he has one Brother, but he is useless, he has been taking care of her for a year now, when we had to go to KY, my oldest GD stayed the night with her, so I am kinda stuck
that's the reason why we can't move to my property
Elizabeth
Poor Darlin, Take care of you all relatives, never know when you may need it. Wish we come come see you too.
give you a hug ((())) but my arms are too short. We will just keep writting and maybe that will help you feel better. O.k.?
Hang in ther, Elizabeth.
Charlene
it's really not that big a deal, look at it this way, my time is my own, Thanks for the Hug, here's one back at ya,
tonight my moon flower Bloomed, BTW your Brug is georgeous, if I lived near you & Dee you gals would get into trouble, I would have sooo many Brugs for both of you, I have to take a Pic of Angels Moonlight I think it's a triple yipee
I am glad my DH loves my Brugs, he is surrounded by them
Elizabeth
Oh, that is wonderful, a triple. Sitting here letting the bacon burn and smelling up the house but I love reading all these articles and answers to our questions here on the forum. Oh well, cold cereal it is.
It doesn't take much for me to get in trouble , when it comes to plants. Maybe you can send me a cuttng whenever you get around to it, but be sure to send a picture and i can enjoy it that way. I never knew what a brug was until I came into DG. Now I do but am still learning too. I love learning new things and meeting all these plant folks.
Charleen
Hi ev1, came into here sorta late- Louisiana/Ohio - not exactly a day trip . Would LOVE to get a 5ft cutting. I have a brug i had given up on that is about to bloom. The plant is 18 inches tall, the bloom is 14 inches long. Should be intresting. Wish me luck, I bought it from 7S7, so no clue what i really have supposed to be MissEmily Mackenzie. If wishes come true i will send a pic. Liz
You have to set a rascal on a table, don't you? or is it in the ground?Yes, a picture would be great.
Welcome, welcome, better late than never.
The flower is pink- so looks like i have lucked out. Now the flower is 1 inch longer than plant is tall lol. And I will do my best to post pics, as any proud new moma should. Liz
Elizabeth, that is absolutely beautiful. WOW! who is it?
Dee
Dee
that is versa color orange, it blooms yellow, then turns almost orange, like the color of the inside of a pumpkin, it smells wonderful, that is what it looks like at the end of our growing season, I knew you would like it, that's just one of the clippings I will be sending you, that's why I ask you if you had plenty of growing room, also do you like night Blooming cerus, it's a succulent, you can start with the leaves, also I have day Blooming cerus also, they have a beautiful Bloom
but aren't scented
Elizabeth
I can hardly wait til next year, Elizabeth. You sure have some beautiful plants! yes, I do like night blooming cerus. I had a small one a few years ago, that my sister talked me out of..lol At the time, I had lots of house plants and needed to thin out some.
Dee
Dee
the one I will send you is already rooted, I stuck it in the ground, but the day Blooming, I will send leaves, they are so easy to root, that one is about to Bloom, I got a new printer to do my own Photos, the problem with that I need a computer geek to hook it up for me, or my DD to find time to hook it up for me, besides I had to wait till Monday to call them they forgot to send the 6ft usb cord, that I ordered
Don't let your sister talk you out of your plants, I would give my sister plants, but she would kill them, but one of the Frosty pinks should be in Arkansas by now, my neighbor's MIL, is the sweetest person, that's who I gave it too, we hade to cut it back for it to fit in her care
Elizabeth
How about me, Elizabeth? may I have one? That is absolutely gorgeous. I have a String of hearts vine thatis a cute little housplant. A pencil plant, succukent. Voodoo lily bulbs.
I know I am intruding on you all's conversation but Geezzzzz, that is a beautiful plant and I love orange.
My brug is still blooming away and is so pretty. I want to start some that will be shorter when they bloom, That way I won't have to stand on my toes to take pictures.
I want one too please. I already have two, one that I bought when I got here and the other I brought with me from North Dakota.
Charlene
is it the Brug, that you're talking about or the night Blooming Cerus, you can have both, I just have one cerus that is rooted, but it roots so easy from a leaf, How many Brugs do you have? I remember the day, when I only had 3 Brugs,
that was 2001, & my best friend of 26 yrs, gave me 3, I had been to a greenhouse, that had a beauty, it was priced at
$179.00 so you know they still have it, anyway she didn't want to dig them, so that's how I got them, 1 was Versa color Orange, a x candida white & Frosty pink, I still have them, you don't have to worry about intruding, we enjoy talking to you & esp. love the Pix
Elizabeth
This brug I have was called Orange. It is a pretty thing, do you want a piece of it? How about you, Tina? noid, but still pretty.
