I just wanted to say how much I enjoy the daily snippets of information in the "Today in History" section. I don't pay as much attention to it as I do the many different Forums, Plant Files etc., but I glance at it every morning and stop and read when something interesting catches my eye, and at times find myself googling for more information about a subject!

Thank you so much Dave & Co., for this wonderful, safe, family oriented site! We may not mention it often enough, but your hard work at maintaining this garden is very evident, and very much appreciated. This is such a great place of learning, friendship and sharing!

Hi Lin,

On behalf of Melody (who helped me round up all these history snippets, craft the wording and verify the dates), and Dave, who skillfully programmed the feature so it runs by itself each day, thank you very much for your kind words.

Our goal with the Garden History was to make a fun and informative feature where everyone can learn a little gardening history if they are interested. (We like learning new garden-related bits of information, and we assumed other members would, too!)

We hope each day's information captures someone's attention and gives them something to think about, talk about, or intrigue them to go learn a little more. We're glad to hear it's doing exactly what we hoped it would!
