Yeah, this wind is brutal. It really needs to stop.
Weird Weather of '09 #13
Received 2 feet of snow last night. Ground has been frozen for weeks.
This is normal for our area. Early winters ~ late Springs.
Holy cow. Got any pictures, TP? That is such a beautiful area.
But this all goes away within a couple of months, right? Larry (Portland-husband-friend) says the trees bud out in March.
Good thing my DH went to visit his friend in Truckee, CA last month instead of now. 2 feet of snow would have been difficult to get around in. They were having a first grade "class reunion" with 100 % attendance. This is easy to achieve because they were the only 2 first graders in the one room school house they went to.
Summer, March and April go back and forth between spring-like and frigid. We get snow in April every so often. We even had some in May just a couple years ago. Mostly it just rains. A lot. Like build an ark and round up your critters just in case kinda rain.
My house actually feels like an ark! It's basically one room deep & about 70 feet long, with mucho windows on both sides & skylights. It sits on a little ridge with a steep drop to a rushing creek -- like we're on the crest of a giant wave.
A rose bloomed today. That's weird to me. It's only 28 degrees right now.
Well then I guess all you need is an outboard motor, and you'll be set for spring in the PNW. ;D
Looks like the count is getting up there and Laura hasn't been able to get on the computer much recently so I started a new room.
Come on over to the NEW ROOM!!!

Hi Katie, we are over in the new room...
Thanks, Pony. I just wanted to make sure and respond to Summerkid's question on this thread.
Huh? That wasn't me. LOL!
Ooops - I meant Trisha . . .
