Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I started separating them after I posted the pic . . . 3 varieties down, about a dozen to go! I did need to force myself not to keep the tiniest leaves . . . learned that lesson with the AV's last year!

Williston, ND

i cant even stand to throw out a leaf most of the time, but i have on occasion

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

It is heartwrenching, but I just don't have the space to keep everything!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I don't know where to show off this little orchid...........The plant is covered in them........very tiny......she came in a trade from Rain last year.

Sure is pretty Gail!!

I hate to throw away even one tiny leaf, but sometimes things get beyond my control........no time to divide every tiny little AV grown from a leaf into 5 or 6.........or stick every leaf I cut from a Strep. or every little top part of things I pinch.......sigh.......LOL.......thats what happens sometimes when you get older or more stressed.......or ill.......or maybe just plain lazy ^_^.

Everytime I pitch something or lose something from neglect I feel like a "mass murderer",(as Someone ?? on the Gessie forum said recently).

I guess I better get over this quick!!! No matter how much I hate to lose a plant, there are certainly other things in life that are more important........guess I'm just a nuturer ^_^.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Lynn, I have decided that nurturing is a big component of having nice plants!! I know I take it too seriously, but can't stand to have to pitch a plant!! Although I have been potting up every single strep I have for two solid days and hitting it again today. If the plant wasn't pretty it got pitched in the garbage can!

Gail,
I think I will try a new strategy. After something blooms I will decide how much I like it.If it's really pretty to me,I'll keep it.If it's not a favorite to me,I'll pass it on to someone who loves it.That way I can replace it with something else.......hope it works.

Gail, does that Orchid not smell wonderful? Like a fancy perfume. LOL It's Encyclia fragrans. The flowers on mine are about an inch and a half across. Wonder why yours are smaller?

I've got some pretty Sinningias blooming. Maybe I'll get time to get pictures ready to post today.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I smoke and probably can't smell anyway (LOL).......she is a beauty though.......

I miss smoking. Isn't that terrible of me? I'm not going to start back, though. Too hard to quit...

I bet if you stick your nose in it, you can smell it. The fragrance is quite strong. My plant is sunburned and ugly, but full of blooms. Maybe I'll venture out there and take a pic today.

You're going to have a fit when you see the pictures of my blooming Sinns, Gail! Several came from you and I think you'll love them!

I got them ready quicker than I thought I would.

AV Startrick - It's starting to develop the pink fantasy. Wonder if that has to do with it being a bit cooler?

Sinningia 'Ruffled Wood Nymph' Just because it's wonderful! LOL

I'm trying out a black background, too. Does it look better?

Sinningia 'Los Angeles' Definitely a favorite!

Sinningia 'Caitlyn' x 'Ozark Fireworks' This one has two different blooms all the time. One is all white with speckles. The other type has the upper half pink. Very interesting!

Sinningia 'Tinkerbells' It was in heavier bloom a few days ago, but I missed taking pictures.

Sinningia 'Gabriel's Horn' So bright and gorgeous! I love the frillies on the back part of the flowers!

Sinningia 'Aurora Borealis' This thing is HUGE! I have to keep water in the bowl constantly because it dries out and wilts in about 12 hours. The tuber is almost as big as the pot!

Someone I know is looking for Cinnamon Girl--an AV by Sorano. I know I saw something about it on one of the forums recently. Does anyone know where she can find it?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Cinnamon Girl was on ebay last night but the price was rising quickly......let me see if I can find her.....JoanMarie is an excellent grower and vendor.

Just realized that this one is Cinnamon Candy.....but what a beaut!!

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

I've been looking around the net--found lots of Cinnamon this or thats--but no Cinnamon Girl. Thanks anyway Gail!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I bet it came from you, Miss Bonnie!!! I am going to call them all Dear Charlene because that little twisting that the blossom does comes when the plant is more mature! Thanks so much......

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Thanks Lynn!

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Your welcome. The only other thing I found is that there seems to be some kind of disageement on the hybridizer. It was a Swedish site, but the way I understood it Paul Sorano said it is a sport and not one of his hybrids.
I will try to find out more.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Thanks Lynn--They only thing I've been able to find so far is that no one has seen it for years!
