I'm assuming it's die to the cooler temps, but I still have no blooms on any of my crapes.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

You mean 'due' not 'die' to the changing temps. Right? hee hee he

To answer your question yes once but I don't recall the year. I only remember it being very cool, but I don't think it was as wet as this one.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee - yes - 'due'!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It's now more than two months that I am waiting for my patio to be sealed!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

On the main street in the town just north of us, there's a house that has a beautiful dark red crape (or is it crepe?) blooming now.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I saw lots in bloom in KY.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

They are having nice weather there right?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Seems to be. At least it was 'normal' summer weather when I was there.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I have 1 crape with a tough history Had it 2 years-no blooms. Then a tree fell during a storm-right on it. It slowly rebuilt itself over the next 3 years and bloomed a little last year. This spring it diedback to the ground (cold winter? DW's car getting stuck in the snow & sliding into it?)
Now it is regrowing from the roots- again.

Nicknamed 'Lucky'??

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I think its Tonto, but that fits. He always got the tar pounded out of him too.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Tonto is a nice one. I have it.

Yes Kimosabe

I'm thinking that many spouses are going to be mighty disappointed to learn that the cash for clunkers program applies only to vehicles.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I was. ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee. I'm calling Brian!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

He tried it with me too, he was just as disappointed. lol

Ha ha. Sounds like the pina colada song!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Funny you would bring that up!! That was playing yesterday.....he started singing it and I finished !! lol

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee - of course!

Ah .... love!

And no, I do not remember a summer like this. I remember it rained and rained the year before last (2007), but in the spring, and then it was hot afterward, it went straight from wet into hot. This year I'm only just putting away my winter clothes!.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Same here. Don't ever remember a summer like this.

Mid-Cape, MA(Zone 7a)

Same here--except I've only lived here four years, so I don't have the most extensive NE experience!! But this is definitely the most soggy summer yet. The slugs are winning, sob.

Hi y'all sorry I did not get back to answer the question of how our weather was. Just recovered for having a abscessed tooth, pried, drilled, and blasted out of my mouth. I think they where trying to dig to china.

The weather is strange down here also. Wet, Wet, and wet, the humidity very high but the temps below normal. Still hot but no ware near what is normal.

Also Andre is not longer allowed to make his leaps into the air, he landed wrong and injured his back, not bad, and thankfully I noticed something wrong early enough that he will be all right in time Only problem he is also not allowed to run with the bike for 2 months and walking is killing my feet. He is also on a diet to get some of his "fluffyness" off of him. I do not know yet if he has but I have. LOL

Sorry to hear about your pain and Andre's injury! I know about tooth aches, been dealing with one myself lately. I call it my "best yet diet", i've lost 6 more pounds. ^_^
BTW, I like his "fluffyness"! lol DS used to have to take a shot every day that helped with his seizures, however he also gained weight from it. We got him a shirt that said
"I'm not Fat..........I'm just Fluffy!" LOL

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I am right but have to go back to the dentist, help!!!!! I go to the dental collage down in Gainesville, Fl. Lot cheaper. Only cost me 80.00 for their attempt to save the tooth and then to take it out.

The food thief is not happy about the new rules. But he is feeling better.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I told my bro to do the same thing about going to a dental college, his insurance doesn' t cover dental in retirement.
How are you keeping Andre calm?

I received a mess load of new fall catalogs today.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Don't know what got me here (maybe pina colada song) But all I keep singing is Camp Grenada. Anyone else remember this? I thoughy it was the funniest thing in the world when I was 8.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I do. Still laugh at it.

Hello muddah, hello faddah
Here I am at Camp Granada
Camp is very entertaining
And they say we'll have some fun if it stops raining.

I went hiking with Joe Spivy
He developed poison ivy
You remember Leonard Skinner
He got ptomaine poisoning last night after dinner.

I remember quite well.
What about "Purple People Eater"?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

aaawww.. hope Andre feels better!!!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

My NOID crepe started blooming last week, but it is late compared to others in the area. I always wonder about it when I see some that have been blooming for weeks. Different variety I'm sure.

This IS a different summer. Jeff starts his inservice in 2 weeks. The kitchen cabinets are about 80% finished. Guess the remodel will happen next summer. They do look great though. Now, where are we going to store 17 cabinets?

Oh, Wren and Pixie feel better soon. Mom had 2 molars pulled about 5 weeks ago and she had bad bruising. It looked like I had punched her. Good luck to Andre on the fluffyness reduction.

Jen, I'm looking forward to new catalogs.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, I'm not, just means MORE TEMPTATION!!!

Pixie and Wren, I'm right there with you. I need caps in all four corners of my mouth, 2 in one corner. I'd rather remodel the whole house, go to Europe and send DH to grad school. I go under the drill Monday for the first two caps! Yikes. I guess it's my own fault - do you think our kids' generation will have these expanding fillings tgat crack your teeth?

Fond du Lac - I'm sure someone will get clever with this....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hear about the guy who was charged 23 quadrillion dollars for a pack of cigarettes he bought with his debit card a few weeks back?!! I know they keep raising the smokes tax but that's a bit much.

Worse yet is that people in DC now know what comes after a trillion.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

OH NO!!!

My sil just fell for a phishing scheme, an e-mail came thru from her credit card e-mail address and she obviously assumed it was from them and gave out all her info...ss #, bank info, etc...she's sick to her stomach about it. Canceled her credit card but she's worried about her bank account, she can't find an emergency # for her bank.
