Hey, my battery is exhausted and so am I! LOL!
More photos tomorrow I hope. Seeing the hummers all over the yard these days, and all along the creek when we take our walks there. Got to be in the right place at the right time, with the camera on!

Hummingbird Adventures #15
I've always wondered why/how those feathers ruff up like that. Wonder if it is common to all hummers or just some types?
That's a very interesting question. I wish I knew.
Speaking of hummer tongues and repeat behavior...when I lived at a different home, the living room window overlooked the Salt Lake City valley and had a BB hole in it. A black chinned male hummer would repeatedly come to the window and stick his little tongue through that hole. LOL It was so cute. He did it the whole summer we were there.
KC, I think it has to do with male mating display behavior. I don't see this on the females, only the males. Many other kinds of birds do the same kind of thing, with the peacock it's his tail feather. I think the grouse does it with the neck feathers too.
kwan, I don't know why birds do things like that. On our last trip to Mexico, we had a woodpecker that would peck at his reflection on the window in our suite. I guess he thought he saw a rival for that lady woodpeckers affections.
I guess I need to go back and share some photos. I have seen my hummer friends, but have been too busy to post photos of them lately.
I am going to start a new thread.
This is where we are going next: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1031199/
My friend Zippy.
Thank all of you who share your stories and photos. It's a lot of fun hearing about how other hummers act.
