Cottage Rose....
I don't think any of us here DOESN'T understand your dilemma. I know we tend to get nutty. And I more than most. But please... remind us? I don't recall anyone here ignoring a genuine request for information. Missing, yes...but no one to my knowledge has been unresponsive. We DO become friends here by sharing all the poultry and livestock and other things. And friendship begets banter. Trying to avoid joking on all but certain threads...well...that would change the entire tenor of the forum. What we can do, though, is remind one another when we've gone off too far. Haystack did that for us with this thread -the topic says it all.
I personally have NO chicken talk in me right now. My girls are...well...a stress and so I'm not talking about them. But I have seen the questions that come up here are getting answered by those who know. I try to remember to tell people (for instance if the thread is getting many views, no answers) that I don't know, but who might or SOMEone might.
And I've been seeing you around here for quite a while it seems. was glad to see you back, in fact. Newbie? Thought you'd already made yourself at home. I'm sorry if all the wild talk leaves you a bit at sea. Honestly...without instituting a "Do Not Joke" policy...I don't see how to keep joking out of discussion. I prefer dealing with all of you as I would if we were dealing in person...asking directly about anything I feel needs to be addressed.
Response to newbies
There are some things that just can't be legislated, I had no intenion of trying to tell others what to do when I started this thread. I felt entirely free, to address my friends with a gentle reminder, I stress FRIENDS, and I got a great response, I was totally happy with the response from my Friends. You are the best bunch of individuals I have been around in a long time. I love being hijacked, and yes when a thread grows old and stale, it should be hijacked or left for dead. Greenhouse I shall never lopp of your toes. I was just commenting to my wife how much I love the ladies on this forum! All of you have been very kind and accepting of me, and I love being treated as just one of the girls. LOL. Seriously I love all of you as my little sisters. Sometimes believe it or not, I read some of the flowery and chatty threads just to keep up with what my little sisters are up to? I don't comment, I just read and smile. I am proud of all of you because you are so willing to reach out. Just because a group is having a blast in the swimming pool, that doesn't mean you can't jump in and be included. We invite, we don't force. I carefullly read what all of you said, and agree with my beautiful sisters. And Grey kyttyn come out, come out where ever you are. Farmtown sucks as they won't let me in either. Haystack

Sometimes bad days just bite you in the unawares...I say...bite back. Sweetly, firmly, lovingly but sink yer teeth in!!
Hide the sheep!!
lol....I think I was more referring to metaphorical bites out of life...physical ones would be uncharitable...if highly satisfying at times...
