breakfast with the flickers-- part 2
not to bore ya'all with step by step pics--
daddy prods baby flicker to get the suet itself
and it does by leaping on a bell-shaped feeder
and has a dickens of a time getting balanced
and goes around the bell and finally lifts itself
on top and climbs the chain to be underneath
the suet.

love the thrasher pic, and of course your favorites are done wonderfully.
great job on the rufuos,
the oriole and all the babies.

Found this berry thief inside my net frame
and got caught up in loose net under the doorway.
So natually I free em and interrogate em, wanting to
know how it got in. But didn't say a word and denied
getting any berries (even though there's some tell-tale
evidence on the ole beak).
Let it go on a promise on being good and never getting
back in. I did notice its toes were crossed, hope its not
what I think it means.

Lovely start Dave.
Gary, those are beautiful pictures of the Rufous. Nice one to add, to your life list.
Lol on the exercising Blue Tit, whoever took that shot was in the right place at the right time.
Nanny adorable little kitty. Was he out playing the the young juvies birds?
Duc, kids will be kids, always fighting. hee, hee.
Dirt, those juvies have to really work hard for their meals, but they sure learn fast though. Like that caught in the act one, (little thief) as well.
Reddirt, your scissortail, must of used his tail to find out, which direction, the wind was blowing. :)
Another successful launch from the nest, freedom at last. for your little one, WaterCan, may he have a long life.
A juvie Harry, showing me his move.

Seabrook, SC(Zone 8b)

Great pictures! I love looking at them.

We live on a marsh, and some days the marsh is just packed with birds, and other days nothing. This is a low density day on the marsh.

Closer up of the egrets. It's been so humid here it's hard to take photos without the lens fogging up.

There are a few wood storcks tucked in among the greater mass of egrets, but I didn't get a very clear picture of them.

I didn't realize until I started watching birds and moved out to a rural area how important dead trees are to the birds.

These dead snags will be covered in birds soon. I'll try and get a picture. It's a pretty sight.
