Awful Bird Pics Vol. 10

Another one. I sat most of the afternoon near that bed, to get this.

Terrible pic here from earlier this month. Far away from a moving boat. Clapper Rail (new bird).

Here is one of my worst. This is the Blue-gray Gnatcatcher at Cape May yesterday. All the pishing that was made wouldn't bring him back out again.

I almost had it till he decided to scratch.

Frank, you're nearly there!!! Those hummingbirds are so beautiful if we could get a good pix out of them.

Hummer was a lil too far away..."his feeder" is about 30 feet away, he hides in the fir tree so he can ambush the females.

Too many distractions along the way before the zoom can capture the Great Blue Heron on the Pier. These GBH are quite territorial! I saw one chased a white Egret off of this very same spot the other day.

Lily, you need to do some pruning!! LOL.

LOL, Marna. Please don't tell my hubby that. He's off this weekend. lol. Here is another aweful pix. This I think is a purple finch in moulting phase? His belly feather colouring is very light still. Oh Dave colouring as in coloring. :-)

More likely House Finch, but as befits the thread ;-) not clear enough to tell for sure

You've all been mooned! If you look on the left side of the Chickadee, you will see a dried up leaf, shaped like a hummingbird on it's back.

I love this pic even though you can't see its face and you can't tell what it is and there's no point cropping it. In fact, I like the clouds in the background and the leaves. If only he had looked down at me. There were three of them and I was pretty sure they were some kind of oriole.

Yet another bad photo of a female Redstart...I think...someday I will get a good one....maybe!

Sure there's a Redstart in that! I saw one the other day and only got one photo, a total blur that just looked like a sparrow, but I know the truth!

This is going to be the worst photo on this thread! I'm just so disappointed that I have to post it. I was eating breakfast outside when a male Hooded Warbler showed up. I had my camera ready. He was getting closer and closer. I was waiting for him to come out of the dark brush when my dog started barking his fool head off. I'm sure that I tensed with excitement and my dog noticed and wanted to help. Oh well. It flew to the far back fence. I took this shot where you can only see a blurry part of his head and then he was gone.

lol Elph! I know what you mean. I had this one in the bushes. Pretty sure it would have been a new bird for me, but I couldn't catch it after it ducked behind this leaf.

lol! and I thought my pics was going to be the worst! Actually, yours is in focus and you can see its eye and eyeline, so mine is worse. That leaf really hides it well!

Yes, i find it funny how similar they both are!

This male and female Red-bellied Woodpecker have been duking it out every day for a week! LOL

do you beleive this a pigeon on the beach,all the yrs going to the beach never have seen this !!! sometimes I wonder who is taking these badd pics,while on vacation I lost the use of 2 rolls of 35mm,1 roll was to be of the relatives from Austrailia!! also didnt realize had the auto flash turned off on the digital while in the A.C.D. mueseum,DUHHH !!!

Saw my first Junco yesterday afternoon, and had snow flurries in the morning! Must mean winter is fast approaching in our neck of the woods! (Sorry about the awful picture.)

Yes they have come early this year, NJ had some in early Sept. I don't like what their early arrival implies.
