Removing anything attached to a water bed sounds like a bad move and I can't swim.
What expressions (or words) drive you nuts?? - Part 2
And he gave 110%.
So can we assume you were not in the navy, Joyce? ^_^
HA, your assumption makes sense, but I WAS in the Navy.
I learned to float, to fill my pants with water to create a flotation device (hence the bellbottoms) and use my cap to collect drinking water (designed specifically for that).
If you fall into the ocean, very few people could swim to the nearest shore so staying afloat and staying put, where you landed, were the survival rules.
I have a fear of water I can't stand up in. Go figure....
How do you collect drinking ware in your cap or does one survive drinking salt water or are you hoping for rain?
I never figured that out, I never fell overboard.
But there are many other situations you might get into that recquire you to collect water.

huh, pretty interesting about the bell-bottom pants for sailors...
I had a feeling you were going to say you were in the navy, Joyce!
You can't drink saltwater.
But you can drink urine :-)
hehehe...another Man vs Wild fan?
Me too! Survivorman too.
My husband uses "anymore" to mean "nowadays" and he grew up in Long Island! I'm so glad he's not the only one, though.... and he gives 110%, too.
And he leaves it all out on the field.
Is that like the 'out to pasture' expression Dave47. I luv that one. It is totally absolutely nonsensical. What does that one mean?
Out to stud is more fun.
A player who gave "110%" can be said to leave it all out on the (playing) field
An old retired horse doesn't have to race or work anymore. They are just but out to pasture (hopefully)
Out to pasture to goof off. No more work.
Here's a brand new one that is going to bug me:
ICECREAMANDCAKE DO THE ICECREAMANDCAKE! ICECREAMANDCAKE DO THE ICECREAMANDCAKE!
Holy mother of pearl.
As much as I LOVE ice cream and cake, that one is getting to me too, lol! Hopefully the commercial won't last too long! Funny, I remember the commercial, but I'm not even sure who it's for.... Baskin & Robbins, maybe?
haven't heard that one yet
Oh, it's unmistakable. And yeah, it is B&R.
Too funny! I heard it tonight.
Have not seen that one yet.
By the way, Pam - it might be my monkey brain ^_^, but whenever I see your DG name, I see it (and often say it aloud) as 'fuggins'. That makes it quite interesting. Sounds like a great product name.
Yeah, my students say it that way too because it's my username at school. They get a giggle out of it because they think it sounds kinda dirty. *sigh*
I haven't seen the commecial but have seen my kids repeating it and cracking up.
There's little dancing claymation dinosaurs and a cake topper (soccer player?) that takes a header, any kid would love it. But OMG is it annoying.
From science - 'paradigm shift'. Can't stand that overused one.
Its not just science anymore. You must have a paradigm shift to think out of the box and find your cheese
whoa - that's way too much stuff!
It's a rat race out there.
It's a mouse race in this house lately!! We've never seen so many mice. I read that for some reason the mice are out of control this year. Anyone other country folk having the same problem? Even Cuppatea has had mice eating my seeds. One down and now another has burglarized my wildflower seeds and spread them all over the place. Trap #2 going in shortly. Ugh. Glad it's not up to me to "run the trap lines." yuk!
I've seen a couple in the garden, and maybe heard something in the garage. Lets hope that's as far as they go.
My dog actually caught one in the yard a couple weeks ago, I thought it might be a mole, but DH said it was a mouse. I think that's why she digs sometimes, going after them.
No increase seen here.
Here's a word I am hating to hear more and more each day - 'trillion.'
Another weather one - 'mix of clouds and sun.' As if there is another possibility?
agree on both counts, Victor! especially throwing around "trillions" like it's pocket change. More than annoying.....subliminal stress-causing, at the very least.
Ah, what's a few trillions among friends?
I'm pretty tired of "bazillion"!
(edited for spelling)

We speak of Brazilians at my house - I think it's a leftover GWB joke.
And did i already say how I hate "epic fail" used as a noun or adjective, not a noun + verb. As in "oh, that was an epic fail!" You fail a test, Ben Hur is an epic.
You did. I still say the Odyssey is an epic poem. (That is used as an adjective & it is appropriate)
