June IV gessie flowers

Oh, that dark purple one is gorgeous! Just so beautiful! I'm getting my paper to mark those, too! LOL

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I think the prettiest ones came from Jack Evans purple and red.........and the peloric purple and red. The Charles Lawn I didn't have enough room for. They are truly giant and require more than I could give them in both light and space.

I like the pelorics a lot. I may just order those and take what I get. It doesn't really matter, though. You know me...I'm happy with pretty much whatever I get! LOL

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Gail--your Pink Smoke is impressive! Nice growing!

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Thanks ladies!Love the pictures.I look forward to new ones everyday. Gail that jack evans dark purple is to die for.

Amy,Did you get all the seeds I sent you ok? The sinningia Rebecca x self is red/orange color.

Hi all,
This week both my GD's have come down with mercer.. My son had it two years ago and now the kids got it from the girls next door who's mother never told anyone they had it.. Nadia is 8 but Lydia is only 1 1/2 years old... Can't seem to catch a break.... Life in this house is never dull... They don't live with us but live close... I spent yesterday in emergency room with my son and the baby... Not nice... Oh well this to shall pass....
I did not want to come here to complain but to show you all Jan's red sinn she sent me and now has bloomed... Ok I love the pictures and hope to try seeds again in fall....
Hugs to you all,
Susan

Susan...........that is so dangerous for small children to have........you and the family will stay in my prayers......how scary for everyone!!

Love your sinniniga..........can't get enough of the big ones these days!!! Just keep ordering from DT!!!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I simply cannot believe I have been potting up all morning (or repotting, shall I say) and look what I found. This is the first Franken Knob from leaf that has been allowed to grow (because I didn't know she was there). The bloom is actually larger than on the old mother plant. I can't find her mother plant so this is double good news.

This is big for me as I have not perfected by any means the art of growing from leaf!!

Melanie, I can't believe you found that wonderful episcia at the grocery store........we never have any gessies down here anywhere...........

Susan, I have my dead leaves just like everyone else (LOL)>...........glad to see you posting again. We always miss you when you are not around.

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Gail, I knew that it was an episcia, just don't know which one. No name tag. Still can't believe $1.98!!

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Well don't know how long will be posting as as most know my home is the crazy house.... The summer brings so much more to do... I wanted to show you a picture of N.B. Baby Girl I think it is I grew from a leaf but do not have one..LOL Will see if there is one still in bloom... She is pretty I think...
Ok making new dinner so will be back later and hopefuly with a picture...LOL
Hugs,
Susan

Susan, I hope your grandbabies are better very soon!

Here are the Streps I ordered from David Thompson and received a week or two ago. Overall, I'm pleased with them. These are just bloom pics for now, as I always snap a bloom pic to keep as reference for myself. LOL

Strep 'Purple Panda'

Thumbnail by RainGazer

Strep 'Inkblot' I love this one! It's almost black!

Thumbnail by RainGazer

Strep 'Roulette Azur' It's so NOT blue! I don't know why people have to doctor pictures to make it look blue. Just say it's purple and go on about your business, ya know? I knew better than to expect it to be blue, I knew it would be purple, but a tiny part of me held out hope that it really would be blue. It's pretty anyway, and I really do like the solid white throat. I intend to try and hybridize a bit with this one to see what I get.

Thumbnail by RainGazer

Strep 'Helter Skelter' It's pretty, but 'Spin Art' is prettier! LOL I'm picky, can you tell? :oP

Thumbnail by RainGazer

Strep 'Victorian Valentine' I like it. It could be more unique, but it is a pretty flower. ^_^

Thumbnail by RainGazer

Sinningia leucotricha putting up new growth. I really, really love this plant! It never really went dormant over the winter, but I'm really hoping it will bloom this year. I'm giving it a lot of light and fertilizing regularly, so maybe... ;o)

Gee, could I have used the word "really" more in that last post? LOL

Anyway, last one for now... Nematanthus 'Champagne Jam' Not a bloom, but with gorgeous foliage like this, who cares? LOL I took this pic from the underside so you can see the red leaf backs.

David's Butterblues is a nice blue, too......

Thumbnail by gessiegail

You know, Gail, I looked at and considered every one of those! LOL Are they really blue, or are they really purple or lavender?

I had to go snap a few more. LOL

Episcia 'La Solidad' I like this one, because it seems to like me! LOL Can't wait to see it bloom.

Thumbnail by RainGazer

AV 'Startrick' has buds! LOL

Thumbnail by RainGazer

Jan, I just now saw where you asked me if I got the seeds you sent, and I certainly did! Thank you so much! I thought I emailed you... I'll have to go check on that. I probably forgot to send it and it's saved as a draft... LOL

AV 'Funambule' I sure am proud of this one!

Thumbnail by RainGazer

Episcia 'Pink Smoke' Not nearly as pretty as Gail's, but I don't keep mine domed, and that really does make a difference in the lighter colored ones.

Thumbnail by RainGazer

A bunch of various Sinningia seedlings. If the Sinn leucotricha above interested you, I have seedlings of it available...

Thumbnail by RainGazer

Here are several different Gessies.
The big plant on the left is Drymonia serrulata.
The plant at bottom right is Petrocosmea minor.
The plant just above and to the right of Pet. minor is Petrocosmea formosa.
Above Pet. formosa is a bud on Sinn. 'Heartland's Double Dilly'.

And finally, three different Petrocosmeas. Top left is a clump of several Petrocosmea barbata babies. Top right is Petrocosmea rosettifolia. Bottom is Petrocosmea HT-2. Pets are some of my very favorite Gessies! They are fabulous!

Oh such beautiful pictures everyone!! I love them all....but an extra wow on Inkblot !! I love the contrast of the white with such a deep color.

My oldest GD Nadia is doing much better and the younger one the baby Lydia may not have it as it turns out... She may have gotten a bug bite or rubbed up to something that her body reponsed to... I have had what she has now allot of times as things make me welp up.... But they are treating her as if she has it... Also keeping the little girl next door away as her mother is stupid to let her daughter out in the heat and swim with the other children when she has pus sores... I know it is not the childs fault but the mother is out to lunch....
Rain, Looks like we went shopping for plants that are the same except I just got mine last week...LOLOL I am not sure which ones came with fungus gnats but some one has more then I wanted...LOL I also love pets Rain... I just got done killing two from over watering... I still have one that has been blooming for two months straight
Here is a bad picture of two of my newer blooms... The flowers are not fresh and I forgot to take pictures when they were... One is Nancy Blocks Baby Girl (pink one) Second is one I also grew from leaf like the NB one... It is Rainbows End.....
Well my new dinner was really good so I was a happy camper.....
Ok first picture is Baby Girl. Not a good picture sorry
Hugs,
Susan
