Love those acorn woodpeckers.

Marlton, NJ

Oh Duc I love those Acorn Woodpeckers!!

Aren't young ones great? Their not nearly as timid as their parents and you can get quite close.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

OMG Duc, it keeps getting better and better for you.

Florence, MS(Zone 8b)

The titmouse family has been in the yard all day. It is so hot and dry the birds are hanging around the yard more where they know they can get feed and water. Since I have had to water the beds every other day they look forward to the sprinklers turned on.

This one was getting water from the ant moat and begging for food at the same time.

Very cute Frank! That juvenile is adorable!

We have a family coming in here too. They have always been a favorite of mine with their little pixie hats and raspy voices.

Frank, great shots of that baby!! Loved the one with the baby getting water in the moat.
Adel, your baby Tree Swallow must be just a bit older than mine. I just love that big mouth on the babies. Great shots of the Oriole too!!

Klamath River, CA

1/2 hour ago I decided to sit on the front porch and do some bird watching. A few minutes after I started, one of the baby Tree Swallows came out of the bird house like a torpedo and flew off with mom. A few minutes later another baby jumped out of the house to a branch I had tied up next to the house yesterday.

seconds later another baby looked out the hole.

The two had a conversation and then the third baby flew off with the second one following it. Don't know what happened to the fourth one.

That is great! Congratulations adel!!!

Florence, MS(Zone 8b)

congrats on the fledging.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I am so jealous of the swallow babies!!

I have had so many cowbirds around...but I have not had anybody bring a cowbird juvie yet. I am suspecting some cardinals will be raising some this year maybe. At least they didn't pick the Chipping Sparrows this year!! Or maybe they picked the catbirds and they pushed all they eggs out.....

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

How neat that you (and your camera) were there for it!

Florence, MS(Zone 8b)

It is hot down here in the midsouth. The Carolina Chickadees and the Turfted Titmice Have taken over the ant moats. It was 101 here today.

And either the heat is causing me to get poor pics or something is wrong with my camera. I can't seem to get them sharp and they look like they were shot through a dirty window.

Linthicum Heights, MD(Zone 7a)

Nice photos everyone.

Great cygnet photos, knip.

duc, particularly like your Oriole and Acorn Woodpecker shots.

adel, like your Oriole photos.

Here's a male Summer Tanager photo taken this week. I assume it's the same one because I have taken photos of the male in the same tree on 4 different occasions. I finally got the female, also.

Clinton, MD(Zone 7a)

The baby pics continue to impress.

F chisolm, it's probably because of some sort of heat wave that affecting the pic. I had that problem in the winter when I would shoot out the temperature difference between the inside and outside cause my pictures to not be sharp.

Lith, the Summer Tanager is nice and vibrant. Did you capture that at the North tract?

Here is one the resident Male Red-winged Blackbirds, although I have not seen them for awhile. This one stopped by for a minute and I have not seen him since. I guess family life is the priority now.

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Beautiful shots on this thread everyone...hard to comment on all of them but I love all the baby pics of course!

Linth...that male Tanager is beautiful!

Met...Nice job on the "Black" birds!

Knip...The swans are gorgeous and those babies are precious...thanks for the new thread!

It has been too hot and humid to do anything except complain about the weather...LOL!!

This Blue Jay had just taken a bath and I watched as he/she removed a few leaves from the bird bath before entering.

Here is an adult Indigo Bunting...the juvies and females have not been around for awhile. I hear the Indigos up in the tree lines so I think they must be nesting.
