we came from here.... http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1000055/
anyone can join in on this thread.. here in Kansas, we have a bit of a wait for many of our beautiful morning glories. This thread will show all the grow outs from generous DGrs' that have shown me there are more kinds of morning glories than I ever knew.. there are also some other kinds of flower and plant pictures of my back yard with trades from other DGrs' here and they can see the progress of their contributions to my Back Yard Project, 2009. Thanks to all that have sent me all these wonderful things..
My Morning Glory Adventures continued.. Three
Poor kids next door had to get their sewer line dug up and replaced, I feel for them as that is what we had to do eight years ago, which is what started me on my Back Yard Project... so as I post pictures if you see this front loader and some guys, that is what is going on to the north of me.. on the patio table you see all my plants and planters that the kids have gotten me, along with my desert rose which is about to flush again..
here is the north west corner from the back, facing east again.. it was really bright out in the am.. u can see the lions mane wool training string to the upper right of this photo, and all that tall stuff is yellow evening primrose that is open all night..the 4 o'clocks are almost to the point of covering the utility boxes on the house.. ALMOST
here is the northeast fence area and u can see the pink i. purpurea going crazy, i keep having to pinch it to keep it from eating everything around there..this area will be cool when the three lions tail plants get really tall in the tomatoe barrell there, and when the cestrum and other jmgs come up it will look spectacular, and hopefully we won't see the neighbors' stuff too much anymore
remember when I said I tore out a bunch of my volunteers, and repotted them? well they are going strong, they are in the pot to the right under the pouch planter and above the red monarda bloom, and this is the vine fence south side still trying to cover up the neighbors yard from my sight.. here there are about 20 kinds of things growing.. bignonia, thumbergia, lonicera, mgs, jasmines, coral vine, snail vine, wisteria, clematis and cleodendrum to name a few.. using the neighbors mulberry tree as a shade canopy above it and hopefully will not be able to see thru this in another month.
Beautiful flowers, Debra. That tall yellow flower from the previous thread, I had a few of those. I think they came up from birdseed. I thought they were some kind of wild broccoli. I don't know how far you are from Topeka. It is best known as being the birthplace of yours truly (haha).
Cool... I hope to go to Topeka this sunday and meet up with A DGr for the water garden tour... the pic posted 4 up is my sweet pea, not my mgs from volunteer..
Debra - Fabulous looking plants! Love this photo of a monarda bloom: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6730552
so hot here, I keep missing my early morning blooms, *sniff* I went to Tropicmans' yesterday after work, had a wonderful visit with him and his wife Patty, I had given him one of those shower caddy planters with blue silk in it at the beginning of spring.. .. it was loaded with already spent blooms, they looked like they were awsome, I wish he would take at least one picture while they are fresh open.. but that is like 6 am here.. 102 today..
