Well if I move to an apartment I may have a fire sale on my potted lilies. Most that were in my wood boxes didn't make it through the winter. :*(
2009 Blooms #5
Well, if you move to an apartment you can bet there's plenty of us that would keep your babies for you until you, and they, can find a new home.
pixie ~ I'm pretty sure Marribelle came from Lily Garden, but I don't see it currently listed there or at Lily Nook.
Moby, your Eurydice is captivating.
Thank you Moby, I'll be on the look out for it now.
Thanks lincolnitess and jmorth for the welcome! :)
Elegant Lady honours her name magnolia and the smell must be a bonus, love your Euridice Moby, what a deep rich colour and I love the way the flowers droop a bit like Turkish caps..
Susan, I had the same thought about Landini with Neon Gold- gorgeous together! That big clump is LA hybrid, Royal Sunset- the coloring reminds me a little of Plum Peach, which I also must have some day soon.
Nery, White Stargazer is lovely with that rose. These blue spruces are all over the yard, planted by previous owners in years past. Most are placed nicely through the yard, but we've had to remove 7 so far (another 2 are going this fall). They had been planted way too close together and way too close to the house. This place was unoccupied for 2 years when the current farm owners bought it, and you could hardly see the house for the spruce trees. What kinds of conifers grow there?
African Queen has started opening, at a whopping 6 1/2' tall.
good morning all, Neal I haven't researched the conifers too deeply but not very many do well in the TX gulf coasst and the few that do well are rather overplanted so I would not consider. There is a bluish cedar-looking tree I have seen around and keep meaning the ask the property owner about it, but you know how that goes, never enough time to stop.
I think I got African Queen last year and it didn't make it because I overwatered. It's on my list to try again.
golden touch is divine.
Stunning!
OMG!! Where do I even start? I missed another day of computer time and I'm already so far behind. Beautiful lilies everyone.
Very nice Mags! :)
Beautiful, mags. Is Barbara North fragrant?
Thanks, had to run out there before it started raining again. Good to know that the rain barrel is full now.
I just ran out there...and I don't smell anything. I'll give it a day, and another rain, and get back to you. I can't think that I have noticed a scent on any of the North Hybrids, have you? It could be that my mind has slipped.
Barbara is beautiful!!

Well, lankongense itself is fragrant and could carry the trait into a hybrid. I don't know for a fact that North's hybrids are fragrant. One of my two McRae/North hybrids is nicely fragrant.
We are heading into the dry season here-- don't expect much in the way of a useful amount of rain until September or so. Any bit we get won't be enough to make up for the need to water:-(
Susan, the color of your Midnight looks deeper this year, not like the catalog pic, but very lovely regardless. I love the combination of plants around it too.
Mags, Barbara North is exquisite! Seems like Judith Freeman describes some L.langkongense hybrids as having fragrance in TLG catalog. I haven't noticed any from Karen North yet, but she's still short (I didn't get down on my knees to check)- maybe when it's nose level with lots of blooms.
Cool shots there jmorth
Nice lilies, cool shot of Vermeer.
Eyeliner opened it's first flower to day but it looks awful...so no pic! It will not be a good lily year here it looks like. :(
Oh Nanny, I'm sorry. It wasn't a good year for peonies here....
DANG...THAT is PRETTY!!!
Very nice coloration grapus.
Cute llilyfan. Who is it? Do you know?
