Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

This is Vancouveria hexandra, which is tiny and has tiny flowers. You can see why it is called inside out flower! This is the first year it has bloomed and it is really starting to fill in and shine.

A look at the whole plant, next to the stream in the shade. You can see how small and delicate it is. I like it as a "surprise" when you're walking back there.

I can't believe how huge the yarrow are. You can barely see the dogwoods behind them! Salvia in front, and you can see some dianthus peeking through with some pincushin flowers on the left.

Yarrows are spreaders so I put them where they can go nuts, same with anthemis, which I cut back after the first bloom and dead head all summer.
OR ELSE

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

I agree about the yarrow. We had two (yellow and white) that had to be removed because they took over.
On a differant subject. Has anyone tried or been successful with yucca plants in the northeast?
Chuck

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Yes and its another spreader with deep roots that are hard to digup.
I'll never grow it again.
I have more of a country garden style anyway. Yuccas look great outside office buildings

Love the MG but 'Okagami' is so beautiful and bright. Where did you get it? please??

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Isn't it nice Pixie? I got two last fall to see how I like them. Well, I really really really like them. I am 99% sure I got both at Draycott Gardens.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's really a stunner! Thank you for the info...I wished I hadn't looked! lol I love them all!!!!!!!!!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Eye-Yie-Yie!! Am I that far behind??!!?? So many twists and turns, I think I need to sit a spell!

I hope everyone is happy and healthy.

Cannot believe how quickly time passes when busy. I was told it is ok to be busy, but not ok to be too busy to say hello!

I have mostly had only time to lurk, since business has been really busy, combined with not wanting to work on business, but garden!

I probably won't have time to properly catch up on threads for another week, I am sure!!

Here is (2) pictures PhotoMerged using PhotoShop into a panorama of sorts. A rare shot of the front corner garden.

Stuffed in there is:

Columbine, centaurea, lady's mantle, penstemon digitalis, oriental poppies, (2) different daylilies, monarda, milkweed, several roses, most of which have died back to mere climbing red root stock, Chinese lanterns, iris, hibiscus, lavender, hyacinths, balloon flowers, holly, and mahonia aquifolium.

Can anyone spot the one I missed??

That is an awesome MG .... great red!

I cannot believe how HU-MONG-OUS these paeonias have gotten this year!

Haven't a clue as to which either are specifically

Lol, I looked at the first pic again wondering where the peony was. It's beautiful!...in the second pic;)

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

One of the few remaining roses that has not reverted back to its climbing red root stock.

No idea what this one is, but I like it a lot .... tiny thing.

I had scrolled back to look at your MG, Venu, and forgot I hadn't attached the picture .... went back down and hit send ..... D'oh!

The Lady's Mantle is blooming along nicely .....

I cannot make up my mind if I like this perennial, or not. I do, but ..... I am not sure why I hem and haw. I do like how they play with the water .... and the shape of the leaf is a nice contrast .....

Centaurea and a fresh poppy pod (and maybe a little lady's mantle sneaking up from below).

This shot is of two different plants

The goat's beard has taken over that other astilbe-like plant to the left, I forget the name of it at the moment, common one.

I need to move one or the other, I think .... in fact, what was I thinking planting them side by side in the first place????

Paeonias and iris .... which I mistakenly called japanese on the other thread. I knew they were Siberian, but must have had brain freeze.

This entire front garden area needs to be redone and started afresh ...... good thing y'all show me all these awesome pictures so I know just what I want!
