Beginner Gardening: Cantaluope? ...., 1 by IRIS

I had put in some veggies a while back ( I do totally organic gardening for veggies) and I had written the time and type down on paper, But, I lost the paper and now I don't know what kind of cantaloupe I have, It was the first time I ever planted this particular kind and I can't find the paper so I totally forgot what kind it was, But, I have never seen this size cantaloupe so was wondering if anyone has an idea of what kind it might be, It still has some growing to do, But, It's allready a foot long and about 22" around, I tried to post a photo, Though it's not a very good one, It kinda shows what it looks like.

The other problem I have is that I planted corn at the same time and figured that I would just go by the date on the paper to know about when the corn would be ready, But, Again, Lost the paper and now have no date, Had soo much going on that I just can't remember what was planted when without the paper I had written it on, How do you know when the corns ready for picking?? I did pull back on the top of the ear and it didn't seem like the corn was done yet, But, The top silk is turning brown? Don't know what to do now?
