Comments regarding DollarSeed (Dollar Seed)

I love ordering from Dollar Seed! I've made 3 orders that have all been shipped quickly and were packaged in well labelled Ziploc bags. The germination rate is always great, I got 100% for most seeds. Always a reasonable price for a very generous amount of seeds.

My only hope for the company is that they expand their catalog especially for flowers as they continue to grow. They do have a very nice variety of veggies and herbs. Keep up the great work, I'm sure I'll be back for more soon.

Amazing!!!! I still can't believe how many seeds I got for only a dollar a pack. I just got them in the mail ... very quickly by the way .... so I haven't had the chance to start any yet but will soon. The seeds look beautiful and exactly like they should. Will definitely be ordering again and again!!!!

The seeds I ordered arrived fairly quickly and most have germinated very well. Only ones that didn't germinate were soybeans which can be difficult to germinate anyway. I didn't have a single soybean germinate even after soaking for a long time in a warm area. Will keep trying. Everything else I've ordered has had good germination so far.

Website enabled quick, efficient searching and ordering. I was notified by email when my order was filled and shipped, and it arrived quickly. I am pleased with this experience. Especially with the generosity of number of seeds in the package for just $1. Wonderful.

One thing I should note for the vendor; there is an inkstamp on the invoice with a url on it; that 'tinyurl' address no longer works/ doesn't go to where it should.

This was my first year ordering from DollarSeed. I was looking for a low cost way to buy the seeds I wanted for our garden and came across their site after seeing recommendations in a group conversation. I found their site very easy to navigate and ordering was very easy. The seeds arrived very quickly which was impressive giving that I ordered during the busy season. Everything was very well packaged. I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to buying from them again!

Ordered 4 days before Christmas and still got my seeds in 7 days. Shipping cost was very reasonable. They threw in an extra pack of seeds which was a nice touch. Seeds looked very healthy. I will report back on the germination rate.

I don't have a lot of money to spend on seeds, and here in FL, our growing seasons are reversed from the rest of the country. By the time I got around to looking for seeds, they were gone out of the dollar stores and even the big box stores. I was looking online for "cheap seeds" and found Dollar Seed, who just happened to be having a half-price sale. I ordered as much as I could afford, which wasn't much, trust me. I think I spent less than $6 total with postage. The seeds arrived very quickly, which in my city is a miracle as we don't have the best postal service here. The seeds were so perfectly clean and well-packaged that not one was damaged in shipping, plus the amounts of each seed were very generous. I had just bought a package of Burpee seeds for more than twice the price and only got 5 seeds in the pack (none of which sprouted), so the generous portions were much appreciated. I over-planted the seeds, expecting a low germination rate but BOY! Was I ever wrong! Almost every seed germinated and I was giving away plants like crazy, to the joy of my gardening friends.

I've since moved, and I wanted some new varieties for my new garden. I went onto the site one night and AGAIN there was a sale! Like $1 a pack isn't cheap enough! I found their Tomato Sampler pack, and wonder if wonders, it had Cherokee Purple in it! I had wanted some of these, but all the places I found them were so expensive and postage was so high. I don't need but a couple of plants for my tiny garden, so the 10-seed sampler pack was more than sufficient. I'll also be able to try the Mortgage Lifter and Great White, two more I had wanted to try. Since that was on sale too, I got 10 varieties with 10 seeds each for less than $2! Again, I spent less than $10 total with postage and I was sent a bonus pack of Marketmore cucumbers with almost 300 seeds in it! My friends again are ecstatic about all that I have to share, and are vowing they will be buying from Dollar Seed from now on.

Anytime I have a question, my emails are answered quickly. I am so pleased with this company, I wrote a blog post recommending them, and am constantly praising them on social media. If you have not used Dollar Seed, you really should.

My first time ordering.Seeds are very clean,shipping costs are great and free seed pkt. contained more than any Company I have ordered from.I live up North so many vegetables can not be planted at this time.I will be looking forward too this coming seasons planting/ harvest and will be sharing the outcome at a later date.TY again DollarSeed.

My first time ordering from this company, I was very pleased with my order, ziploc packaging, labeling and shipping time. Site does not have ALOT of flowers seeds which is my main interest, but I was able to find 10+ that I wanted and shipping cost was very reasonable. I hope they will add more flower seeds to their offerings.

I just received my package from my online order at dollarseeds.com. I'm not a woman who is easily impressed, let me just say that right now. So, for me to say I'm whoppingly impressed, is something that doesn't ever come out of my mouth. So there is no mistake here....I'M WHOPPINGLY IMPRESSED!!!!
This company is amazing. I couldn't quit smiling when I opened my package! I of course, received what I'd ordered, and quickly I might also add. But they took the time to hand sign from the woman who'd filled my order, a Leah Shafer, and that in and of itself is something that really surprised me! I really appreciated that personal touch! I order seeds from alot of different companies and also from some of my favorite You Tube gardening personalities that also sell their own seeds. So for a seed company to stand out in the crowd is something I won't easily forget! You guys went way above and beyond in filling my 5 packet, $4.50 order! I mean, it was a measley little order! And you even threw in a really nice imprinted ink pen with a flashlight in the top of it, how cool is that? I love pens and really really like the nice ones with extra gadgets, lol. (yeah I'm easily amused, it's the little things that thrill me these days, lol) But getting back to this company....on top of signing in hand, the order form, and including a magnet for my fridge, (although it didn't get that far, I slapped it right were I see it every day, on the metal surrounding my desk here :) ) AND they also included an extra freebie packet of seeds, not just flower seeds, it's food seeds! Broccoli, to be exact! I mean, they're giving me free food! That amazes me! Flowers, yeah, they're fine and all that, but I'm old and on SSI, and really have to budget my pennies to make it from month to month, and these people gave me FREE seeds to grow my own food! Think about that everyone, that's majorly cool! To them it might be a minor nice thing to do, but to me, that's major niceness! I mean, we're talking a Pen, A Magnet (really pretty magnet to be exact!) and a full packet of FREE Broccoli seeds, as well as hand signing by the person who filled the order! It just boggles my mind that I have to deal with so much complete incompetence with insurance companies and doctors and nurses lately and yet a little dollar seed company, who I've only spent $4.50 in seeds, gives me all this extra, for free! Just because they are so nice! I'm still shaking my head, it's such a wonderful surprise. Just when I thought this whole world was going to hell in a handbasket (as my granny used to say) and now I get this amazing surprise that there is still a company in this world that gives a damn! All I can say, is thank you thank you thank you! I WILL be coming back for more and more and more! AMAZING!!!!!

OK here goes! I am in graduate school...interpretation( EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS IN MY BUDGET). Yes growing a vegetable garden is a way to stretch my grocery dollar..especially with the way food prices are escalating. I can not afford expensive seeds...but I want quality, non-GMO , organic and heirloom seeds. I looked around and found dollarseed...I AM ESTATIC!!! The seeds fit all of my criteria and they ARE affordable. Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you dollar seed!!!
PS. Dollarseed shipping costs are VERY reasonable!!

We have a vacation home on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia Canada and it can be difficult to get what we need in terms of gardening things (we live in Chicago which is much better). Luckily Dollar Seeds now ships to Canada and they are SO cheap you can afford to "experiment"! Don't know how they stay in business but always a fantastic bargain and include free seeds with every order.

Placing my order was easy, I received confirmation of my order, and received seeds within a week.

The prices and amount of seeds are great! They came packaged in plastic zippered bags, which makes it nice to reseal and keep moisture away from seeds. The germination rate is posted on the labels, which is a plus to know.

I do hope great success for this online store, and hope they can increase the selection of seeds available to purchase.

The biggest find was 50 comfrey seeds for $1! Unbeatable.

This company was SUCH A FIND! Not only do they offer inexpensive, non-gmo seeds, but I love that I can buy small quantities of lots of different seeds. I hate spending $3-5 for a package of seeds when I only need enough for an 8 foot row; the rest end up tossed. I've ordered from them several times: the orders come very quickly, in good shape, accurate and the seeds have good germination. Good company.

I have to say, at first I was a bit worried because when I checked if my order had shipped on there web site the status never changed from processing to shipped. Reading the reviews before hand I knew it was a small business so I was patient.


That being said... dollorseed.com came through. My order arrived six days later! I was excited because of the positive feedback the company received. The seeds came packaged in nice zip lock bags and they looked fresh and healthy. I made a raised garden bed about three week prior and it was ready for planting as it was the second week of April and this is my first vegetable garden I thought I may have missed peak planting time. I planted the seeds the evening I received them.


It's six days after planting and... I have lettuce sprouts popping out already!!! I have to tell you I have no clue how to plant vegetables, and like I said this is my first garden but so far, with these beautiful seeds I'm very excited to see how the rest of the veggies I planted do.


All in all, if you are a first time gardener buy your seeds from dollorseed.com and make your first experience a good one like I'm having so far.

Love this company! Great prices and great at keeping customer updated on status of shipment!

Very satisfied in four ways:
1. Very fast packing & shipping, received in TX from NY.
2. Honest shipping costs, unlike many companies who add an artificially high shipping cost at the end of filling out an order.
3. Simple, clearly marked packaging rather than fancy seed envelopes.
4. Check their seed sales. My tomato assortment included interesting varieties that will be fun to try.

After two years of a garden that got blight I knew it was time to get away from burpee. My tomatoes would get nice and big and almost over night be dead from blight. I knew that I had to change something. So I looked for a more local distribution of seeds that I knew could grow in Western New York.

So I started the seeds in March and by may it was planting time. What we got for seeds was more in each bag then we thought we'd get. The germination rates for the seed was stellar.

By June our plants were doing great, tomatoes getting big, corn almost knee high already and cucumbers growing like weeds! Well June 23rd I was on my motorcycle going to work at 4 45am and I hit a deer. I was found in the middle of the road, severe head trauma and really screwed up. Yes I was wearing a helmet and it kinda did it's job. When the medics showed up they immediately called for a helo because I need to get to an icu. Both local helos were busy so they had to wait 20 minutes for the next one to get there. Needles to say I spent 11 days in a coma and 30 days overall at the hospital. Broke my shoulder blades and the bone behind your ear connected to the skull.

How does this tie in? My girlfriend worked 13 hour shifts at another hospital and then drove a half hour to go see me and then half hour home. So nobody was home to take care of the garden. Not weed it or anything. When I came home on July 23rd I was amazed by our garden. Picking cucumbers was semi hard for me but I picked over 100 cucumbers by the end of August. Corn was ready by the end of August and we had pumpkins in September. Peas and beans were done quick and given to the chicken when they were checked on one day. We had well over 300 tomatoes grow. Made the best salsa and spaghetti sauce I've ever had.

With very little input our garden our garden did terrific. The seed is everything you wanted from the store bought seed, but way cheaper and tastier!

I tried to contact Dollar Seed through email, facebook, webform for a few questions regarding their products. Never heard back. Facebook page is periodically updated but they don't seem to care at all. I like their prices but I'm irked to order from a company that is not accessible.

I purchased a few packs of seeds last fall from DollarSeed. I planted them in my winter sowing containers in January. Guess what, I found sprouts today, the first sprouts out of 100+ containers, and they are the Patriotic Coneflower Mix that I purchased from DollarSeed. (A mix of red, white, and blue coneflowers.) The other varieties that I ordered, Mammoth Sunflower and Blood flower seeds I will sow here in a month when it warms up a bit. Pleased with the company and my seeds.

Was very well pleased with speed of delivery, prices, and freebies included in package. It's nice to do business with people who really care about giving good service to their customers. I will be back.

This is my second season with Dollar Seed. Met them on Twitter. Have found the company to be fast, reliable, inexpensive. Good selection of seed - always improving what's available. Great instructions and how-to pages. Didn't have any problems with the seeds last year, no complaints from the receipients (gifted many seeds). Where I got to see the results, they were great (herbs, leafy veggies). Excited about trying them again this winter for my indoor garden.

So I've been on the search for quality seeds at a budget price for a while. Nice to see that every one feels this company has quality customer service straight up. But has any one actually had any SUCCESS with their seeds yet?

In fact, we had a complaint recently regarding the germination rate of our garlic chives, and proved that it is better than stated on the package as we receive them. 95% to be exact. So, I searched all of the places I usually buy seed from locally for the brand of seeds that I have purchased for about a decade now. None of them seem to be carrying them this year! In any case, I refuse to purchase Burpee seeds, which is what is polluting the seed racks in every strore I went to! In nearly 20 years of gardening, Burpee seeds have never performed very well for me, and I don't want to pay $1-$3.50 for 10 or 15 seeds either, especially when my garden is massive!

Anyway, I found DollarSeed on Dave's Garden and the reviews were very good. So, I placed a fair sized order for about 20 varieties of seed and one of the vegetable garden collections. I have to say that I am quite impressed with the seeds, all seem very firm and of excellent quality. I have expereince in seed saving and have been poking seeds in the ground all my life and I honestly expect that germination rates for this seed will be excellent (or very close to it).

Most packets and varieties have a pretty good seed count, though not the peas and beans, next time I order, I will be looking for a jumbo packet of peas and beans as I plant two 20 foot double rows of each, but for this year it is fine as I harvested about a pound each in seeds last year from bumper crops I didn't get to in time (so I let the seeds mature instead).

All and all, I think I have found a new seed supplier, one that isn't stingy with seeds, and by the reviews here, isn't likely to "disappear" either. The shipping was very fast (less than 3 days) and reasonably priced as well at $5.

Ok I have to admit, their site looks like a total scam. Bad graphics and stuff like that, but for a dollar for echinacea seeds, I couldn't pass the chance. The seeds came promptly and came with free seeds. I will definitely order again. Usually i'm turned off by seed companies that charge more for shipping than they do for a packet of seeds, but shipping is cheap here also. Please support this company, cuz i want to do business with this new and growing company for years to come. ;)

Okay, let's take this one step at a time. Yes, my graphics are terrible, and I admit it. Can I do better, probably, but why should I? My goal is to give a quality product, with huge seed counts, for as little money as possible. The free seeds are something that will come with every order, and I strive to not give you the same seeds for free for which you just purchased. I want you to try new varieties, with the hope that eventually you will love them and purchase some at a later date.
The shipping charges are a totally different matter. If you buy less than the $5.00 S&H packaging, then I have to purchase the bubble envelopes, and the label and postage to ship them to you. Sure, sometimes the actual postage isn't the same for what you pay. Please take this part into consideration though. If you buy enough packages to get the $5.00 S&H price, I pay more than that in postage alone to get them to you. As of today, the price of sending a small box USPS Express is $5.15, though I only charge $5.00. The low end (small count) buyers helps defer these costs. When someone orders more than $75.00 worth of seeds, I cover the cost, typically $10.30 for free, USPS keeps raising their rates, but I simply refuse to pass those costs onto my customers.
