I had wanted to order a Kanazawa cherry from them for the last couple of years but I hadnt been sure about paying so much for a tree that I wouldnt get to select in person. Finally this year I went ahead and ordered and given that I had no idea what to expect, I cant say that Ive ever been so pleasantly surprised by an arrival. |

The trees arrived in excellent condition on May 5. The size was generous( over 6') with lots of branching and buds and the prices very fair as was the shipping charges (10.95) I had looked at several nurseries with no luck on finding the quince, so I am very pleased. I will order again from them. Patti |

I ordered a cranberry bush that came in a 4" pot. The thing looked dead on arrival. It has been in the ground for a month and is dead. I have bought other cranberries and they are doing well. I also bought blueberries that are to be 3 year old canes. They are very little roots on arrival. They have done nothing since planting. I bought raspberry canes and they are dead also. I have given them time to be established but after a month nothing is happening. I have contacted Miller to see what they are going to do about it. There refund policy is not good. They say they would replace or refund at their discretion. If they replace are they going to send similar items in the same condition? |

Last year I purchased 6 apple trees, each of which grew 3-4' last summer and are budding and looking great this season. This year I have purchased and planted some plum, peach, cherry, and blueberry. All the new plants appear to be settling in nicely. They do a darn good job with their packaging and have quite a nice selection of bareroot trees to thumb through if you have the opportunity to visit them in person. I will most definitely patronize them each year until I feel my orchard is complete. |

| Positive | Gabrielle (28 reviews) | On Apr 19, 2006, Gabrielle (Zone 5a) wrote: I ordered a few plants from Miller and they have done really well. The fern didn't come up in the spring, but it was too early to tell if it was dead or not. I waited until other ferns had come up to be fair about it before I notified them. I explained this to them, and even though it was a little over their 1 year guarantee, they still replaced it. |
| Positive | MelJayTanner (8 reviews) | On Apr 15, 2006, MelJayTanner Rochester, NY (Zone 6a) wrote: I ordered two standard apples, a blackgold cherry, 6 red twig dogwoods, and 4 ornamental grasses from Millers in early spring. All arrived at the same time even though they were in seperate packages, and I was extremely satisfied with the way the plants were packaged- very professional. Everything looks great, especially the dogwoods which have huge root systems and are very tall. The grasses are small but look healthy and were very inexpensive in comparison to other places that I have shopped. I will definitely order from Millers again. On December 8th, 2007, MelJayTanner added the following: One of the apples didn't make it even with a lot of babying but they replaced it no questions asked, and the new one is doing wonderfully. The others have grown nicely, especially those dogwoods, wow! they are huge!!! Thank you! |

All 6 plants died, never getting any start. I called Miller's. Their representative was friendly, understanding, and was in no yank to get away from my complaint. Miller's is replacing those plants for 2006 spring planting. I have placed an additional order for 2006. |

This year i had a dwaft gala apple die and a couple of red rubarb on sale ( rubarb looked doa btw). I have emailed them but NO response yet . I have every reason to believe they will be but will let you know. I do agree with another poster that their email response is not great and may eventually call them . And have had NO problem with replacements ...If you have problems with a plant give 'em a buzz otherwise stop complaining cause they aint mind readers if you don't complain they won't EVER know there is a problem....David |

For the most part, though, stock arrived in good shape. |

| Negative | michael_clark (2 reviews) | On Apr 18, 2005, michael_clark New Tripoli, PA wrote: I ordered four grapes from Millers, which I planted in an optimal location. Over the first two years, three of them struggled to grow about as much as a grape will normally grow in the first year alone. The fourth plant died slowly of Eutypa (it had the disease from the start). I emailed Millers describing the symptoms of the diseased grape and asking for a replacement, but they've never so much as responded. If that is their attitude toward customer complaints, then I'm not impressed very much. |

They have excellent variety and nice plants I have received over the years. I am happy to order from them again. My first order was 20 years ago, for my 5 year old son, to make a blueberry patch. He still enjoy his blueberries. I have also order grape and other fruit from them. A young plant is like a child, you have to look over it and protect it. I am satisfied customer which happy to order anytime from Miller nusery. |

Not one of these bareroot items ever leafed out. I do live across the country from the nursery and delayed transportation may have caused the deaths. I rarely ever call for replacements, thus I do not know how the company would have reacted to replacing the entire order. I was very disappointed however, and have not ordered from the company since then. |

Last year my wife ordered another 15 and we treated them just like the first group, but only one survived. We noticed that they weren't very large or healthy looking when they arrived. We won't buy any more roses from this company. I also bought a semi-dwarf Yellow Transparent apple tree (five years ago)and have finally come to the realization that it is only a dwarf. |

Overall a good experience. Will update in a month on the plant's progress. |

| Negative | weedkicker (12 reviews) | On Jan 23, 2004, weedkicker wrote: I've been ordering from this company for quite some time and used to be very happy with their stock. But the last few years have been a disaster. A couple of years ago I ordered two dozen raspberry plants, along with some grapes and a few other things. About half of the raspberries were nothing more than sticks, and a bundle of three were not even what I ordered. I requested replacements (which they charge a fee for) and the replacements were in worse shape than the originals. Out of 24 original plants only 6 of them grew. Not one of the replacements did. I don't know why I even wasted time putting some of them in the ground. They were so pathetic it was obvious they weren't going to grow. I mean there was literally no root system on some of them. They were just sticks! |

| Negative | kennyr (8 reviews) | On Aug 13, 2003, kennyr Saugus, MA (Zone 6a) wrote: I have been doing business with them for a few years now, but this year was a poor year for most of the plants I bought from them. First off, they shipped only 7 of my 10 purple asparagus plants, and I had to tell them that three were missing. Next, was two different honey berry plants of which looked like twigs with a single root. These never grew. A blueberry bush was also ordered, but again was a twig and failed. Last year (spring) I had bought 2 types of seedless grapes and after a full year, two had died, as did three black berry canes that were planted ths spring. Needless to say I wasn't very happy. I have, however, notified them of all the problems and even about the year old grapes that failed. They plan to replace everything either this fall or next spring. I hope that everything will survive this time, but feel that they will stand behind their plants as far as replacements. On April 21st, 2004, kennyr changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following: Yet another unhappy year for plants from them. This time for an espalier apple tree. The tree arrived CUT DOWN to only about 12 inches tall from the bare roots. I have another similar apple tree from another source that arrived last spring as a fully grown tree at almost 5 foot tall, with NO CUTS on the main trunk. I suspect that the Miller tree was probably damaged above the cut area, so thats what they shipped me. Its so short, its more like a low bush. I doubt that it will be growing very much as the main trunk is the only 'active' growth for this type of tree, only because any branches are very short (only a few inches long). I think that this is the last time I will be buying from them. |
