Comments regarding ECOLAGE

I was looking for a Natchez crepe myrtle and came across the website for Ecolage. I contacted them by phone at their 1-800 number and spoke with Steve Abrahams. He was so patient with me (I'm a first time gardner) and he gave me so much help in choosing the exact plant I was looking for. I received the plant almost immediately, and it was well packed and in excellent condition. At the time I planted my crepe myrtle we were having a problem with white flies and my poor baby was covered with them. I immediately called Steve and he not only told me how to treat the plant he even offered to replace it. Needless to say, the treatment worked and it has survived first a flood, and then Hurricane Ivan. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and the special treatment I have received from Steve and his brother Dave.
I would encourage ANYONE who is an avid gardener to contact Ecolage and Steve will put you on the right track for whatever you may need. I can't say enough nice things about this company.

Great Company to do business with. I have ordered from Ecolage several times and have always been happy with the size and quality of the plants. Steve is great to work with and is quick to correspond regarding the order. I just ordered a camellia 'Kramers supreme' from them and it arrived healthy and full of buds.

I was able to find the plants I need easily and quickly. Their plant and shipping charge prices were reasonable and their variety was really nice. I ordered and received my plant, in perfect condition and well packaged, less than 24 hours after placing the order. What more could you ask of a vendor?

I was recently in search of a camelia and did some research online. Ecolage came up during my search. I had never ordered plants online and I was very skeptical ~ I was ordering a special gift for someone. I am so pleasantly surprised with the service I received. I got a personal confirmation from Steve Abrahams that day and my sister received her plant 9 days later! She said it was beautiful, healthy and full of buds! She couldn't get over the size of it! I am so glad I found Ecolage - I'll be moving to Florida in 5 months and I have a lot of land to fill in with plants! I'll be using their expertise to learn more about what I can grow. I just received my first order from Ecolage, a Torreya taxifolia (I collect rare conifers and had been looking for this one for a long time). The plant is beautiful, shipping was very fast (I got the plant less than a week after ordering) and packaging was excellent. I strongly reccommend this company and will certainly order from them again.

I called Ecolage late at night on New Year's eve to order a fragrant plant and found Steven Abrahams hard at work and answering the phone! I told him he should be home but I was glad he was still there as he was able to tell me why the Gardenia, which was my first choice of plant to send to my sister in Florida, was not the best plant for Florida due to some infestation it easily gets there. So I purchased a flowering Sweet Olive that grows well in Florida and blooms for more months of the year than the Gardenia, and my sister was thrilled. The advice, service and on time delivery from Ecolage was excellent.

I placed my first order with this company and can't believe the healthy plants that I received. One of the plants I ordered(Osmanthus Fragrans) is now blooming profusely. I'm so glad to find such an excellent online mailorder nursery that provides quality plants, fast shipment, and wonderful customer service.

after searching for an online vendor for sweet olives, i decided to order from ecolage. i hadn't been referred to them by anyone and had never heard of them, so i was a bit skeptical to order plants from an online seller.
wow! was i surprised! i ordered 2 sweet olives [osmanthus frangrans] on tuesday 22 december, and got an email the next day saying they'd be delivered on friday, 24 december. i was expecting the standard 10-day turnaround for online purchases.
when the sweet olives were finally in my hands after the christmas weekend, they were in flawless condition and the roots were still wet! i couldn't have asked for a better delivery! they sent care instructions and even asked that i send an email to them letting them know in what shape everything was delivered. incredible customer service!ecolage has my business from now on. thanks!

This was my first order with ECOLAGE. I purchased two coral vines for my mother from Steven Abrahams. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. My order was placed on a Friday and my mom received them in EXCELLENT condition on the following Tuesday! I highly recommend ECOLAGE and will use them again!

I recently purchased a Pink Desert Trumpet Vine and a Ruttya from Ecolage. I have never before received plants in such fantastic condition! I have done a lot of mailorder plant purchases, and by far, Ecolage is the most prompt, and supplied the plants of the highest quality. The Ruttya actually had several blooms on it in excellent condition. The Pink Trumpet had three foot of fully leaved stem and one flower bud. Both plants looked like I had just picked the best from a nursery lot. Their condition could not have been better.
The Ecolage folks appear to be truely dedicated to the highest quality. Very refreshing compared to some of the dead and dying items I have received from the big name national houses!

All plants arrived in perfect condition. They looked like I had just I had just put them in my cart at the nursery and was on the way to the checkout counter. The Torreya taxifolia now has a special place in Early, Texas and should prosper since it's such a nice, healthy plant. Ecolage sent a Torreya taxifolia (an endangered conifer) to me. It came quickly and in excellent condition. I have never received a mail order plant in such great condition and would recommend Ecolage.

I found this absolutely beautiful web site while doing a search for the Rose of Montana vine! The web site is fantastic with beautiful pictures, a great selection of plants, good details about the plants, and the site is easy to use. ...And I was totally dee-lighted with the lovely plants. I got them the very next day--wonderfully packaged, looking green and healthy and ready to grow. I am so happy to have found the Rose of Montana and am also happy to have found Ecolage! I have grown sweet olive for years thought that they were supposed to be 4 inches high, in tiny little containers, and be very delicate.

Imagine my surprise when I received a gorgeous 1 1/2 FOOT tall robust osmanthus fragrans from Ecolage. The wrapping and documentation (very impressive from the Louisiana Department of Agriculture) was superb, and the price was the same as the puny specimen from another company.

They have varieties of plants that other companies can't sell you, too. This year, my Christmas presents are coming from Ecolage. I love this place.

I purchased a Lady Banks White (3 Gal) and was pleasantly surprised with Mr. Stephen Abrahams attitude as well as after sale follow-up. The plant arrived in excellent condition, secured quite efficiently within the carton so that there would not be any damage. A 1st class operation. An excellent place to purchase specialty plants for those who truly love plants. I was so used to the slam-bam-thank you mam attitude of most suppliers. Would gladly do repeat business.

Just received my Chinese pistache tree and 3 on-sale crepe myrtles. First time ordering. Very impressed with Ecolage's friendly customer service (Stephen was very helpful) and excellent condition of the plants. Packaging is superb, no plastic peanuts! Shipping is not cheap but it's UPS and these are not bare-root plants. Would definitely order from them again.

Ordered three shrubs -- two quinces and one beautyberry. They arrived in excellent condition and are happily planted in the garden. Especially nice packaging.

Over the past year or so, I have used the Garden Watchdog to review various companies prior to ordering. If you can get feedback from other customers before taking a chance on a particular company it takes the trial and error process out of the equation. As a small home grower I have ordered from different companies. Some were good, some OK, some were really bad. I certainly can recommend Ecolage highly. I ordered over twenty minature crape myrtles. Not only did they arrive super fast, they were excellent plants and without a doubt the best packing I've ever seen! I spoke with David several times and he always responded quickly and with obvious knowledge of the business. You won't be taking any chances with this company. They stand behind their products and service. Thank you.

To call this buying experience Positive is an understatement. We have made numerous purchases from various nurseries over the years, but none match our purchase from Ecolage. The foxtail fern we ordered was superbly packed, and arrived in better condition than any other plant we have ever ordered. I received my order of 6 miniature crepe myrtles. They are beautiful, big, and healthy! I have never seen plants so well packed. Communication was great, too. I appreciated having the tracking number. I will definitely be ordering from Ecolage again, and highly recommend them.

I purchased three crape myrtles (Tightwad) from Ecolage. This was my first time to buy nursery products by mail, and I was nervous about it. I was skeptical that plants could be shipped without sustaining some kind of damage. I was very pleasantly surprised. The crape myrtles arrived in two days. They were packed perfectly, the base covered by plastic wrap (to prevent them from drying) and tied to the bottom of the packing container (so that if someone turned the container upside down, the plant would not be damaged). They were fine specimens in wonderful shape. Ecolage gets an A+, and I will recommend them to anyone.

I am a transplant from Los Angeles to Houston. Even though the zones are similar - the moisture levels are very different. I studied the plants that grew well in Houston and then selected Ecolage through an internet search. They provide plants that grow well in a moist climate. Shopping with Ecolage is extremely satisfying! Ecolage's service is responsive, their quality is excellent and their price is affordable!!! Hopefully, you wet-climate gardeners will give them a try - I'm sure you will be as pleased as I was...

All I can say is WOW. Shortly after I placed my order, I received an email that my tree would ship out that day!!!! Because we live in Houston shipping only took one day. The tree I received is a BEAUTIFUL Japanese Blueberry in a 3G pot. It was very well packed and shipping costs were reasonable. I emailed Steven to say "thank you" and ask a couple of questions and he responded very promptly. I have never ordered plants online before but I think from now on I will gladly do business with ECOLAGE.

I have visited this nursery in person. It is a first class operation. It may be the most impressive and well kept nursery I've ever seen. Very knowledgeable, very professional, very friendly, very clean, very interesting.

Well I hate to say it, but I don't know anything about gardening, however I do order everything I need over the Internet. In terms of an Internet order organization, this company is top notch with quick delivery, excellent packaging, plants look in great shape, very healthy looking, and the folks at Ecolage respond in a timely manner to email. It was a great experience ordering from Ecolage, and I WILL order more crape myrtle's from them, once I make sure I don't kill the ones I just planted, as I am new to planting...

Yesterday I received my first shipment from Ecolage. I couldn't possibly be more pleased with the plants or with the service they provided. Moreover, I was able to acquire a plant that I had been seaching many months for unsuccessfully. I'm now preparing my second order -- & that's the highest praise I can give.

I ordered 20 rosey carpet crape myrtles from ECOLAGE and when I received them I was so pleased with how they looked. They were packed so they stayed moist and not one twig was broken. They were in bloom and just beautiful. I would have hand picked the same plants if I had gone to pick them up myself. What a job well done. They also responded to my questions online before I ordered the plants and send me pictures of what I would be getting. I will use this company again when I order plants online again. I was thrilled!

I had been looking for a particular crape myrtle variety without success until I found Ecolage. We live four hours from the nursery and could go only on a Sunday. The owner met us there, opened the nursery and provided exactly what we wanted. Some days later we discovered a mixup on one plant (which could have been because we picked up the wrong one). No matter. Ecolage promptly and cheerfully sent a blooming replacement perfectly packed for delivery. Our experience could not have been better. These folks are top-notch in every way.

I received an order of 5 plants from Ecolage yesterday and I have to say that these plants are some of the very best looking plants that I have ever received. They are HUGE! Wow! On June 12, I ordered a 'Natchez' crepe myrtle tree which was delivered June 16. I received a BIG, beautiful, bushy, HEALTHY tree. It is gorgeous!

And the tree was so carefully and securely packaged, it looked as if it had never endured shipping at all.

Best of all, they picked out a nicely-shaped tree (I'm rather picky about that) - it really is a beauty!

I also received, in another box, my order for Mayhaw Jelly, made right here in Louisiana.

Great place to buy some very hard to find plants, particularly some great native Texas plants. All the plants were large, healthy and well packaged. WOW! I was on the hunt for a Chinese Flowering banana plant after having a not so pleasant experience with another seller. I saw this Co. on this website and decided to give them a try. I couldn't be happier. Not only did they e-mail me a picture of the exact plant they would send, they have the great sized plants (this one about 3 feet tall!) and the plant arrived in 3 days in excellent condition. You really couldn't ask for a nicer group of people and healthier plants. They have a new customer, for sure. I would not hesitate to order from them in the future.

I DROVE A 350 MILES ROUND TRIP TO THE STORE ON 4/2/O4 AND IT IS WORTH EVERY MILE. THE SELECTION IS GREAT AND THE SERVICE WAS BETTER. THERE WAS ONE SMALL PROBLEM. ABOUT 95% OF THE STOCK HAD NO PRICE OR I D LABLES. WHEN I GOT BACK HOME AND E-MAILED THEM FOR I D I HAD THE INFO. EARLY A M THE NEXT DAY.

I received two coral bean plants that were extremely healthy and were obviously packaged for shipping with great care as there was absolutely no damage to the plants. Upon receipt of my plants I placed a call to Ecolage to inquire about proper planting and care of these plants. The gentleman I spoke with was extremely helpful and very personable. He took the time to answer my questions and made me feel like my online order was important to him. This has not been my experience with some of the other online plant dealers. I will defintely return to the Ecolage website to make my plant purchases and will recommend this site to my friends.
