Very Good Selection, and quality. They have someone always there when you have a question. I have dealt with them for about 5-6 years, I order 90% of my gardening supplies from them. This is my favorite place to shop. In fact as I write this I am waiting on the ups man for an order from them.

Their prices are usually good. I'm an Organic Farmer by trade. However, every, I mean every order I have placed they have made a mistake, errror, shipping , NOT shipped. Its okay to make mistakes but THEY DON'T CALL YOU, EMAIL YOU OR MAKE IT RITE, I.E. they screw up shipping ( l0 day later YOU HAVE TO CALL THEM to see where your stuff is.) AND THEY SAY THEY MADE MISTAKE BUT THEY WONT SEND AND CRECDIT SHIPPING OR SHIP 2 day with a reg. ship price nothing. It's completley FuBar over there. and the clincher..........they chicks are rude to ME. I really tried to keep a rels. with them cuz of the certain items they have at good price and they have so much I can One stop shop. Now.. I avoid at all costs. too bad too.

I ordered seeds and other small start equipment from them and absolutely loved the quality of everything I received. Last year all of the seeds I bought sprouted and flourished. I had a wonderful garden with high quality herbs and veggies and I plan on buying more from them ASAP. I love their selection of seeds, they have the largest selection EVER. I can't wait until I get my next order.

Excellent customer service on my order. I had ordered two of one item (Serenade bio-fungicide.) They notified me quickly that they only had one in stock. They offered options regarding sending the second one or cancelling the order, and then ended up shipping both more quickly than I expected. I received notice of the order status throughout the process. Nice selection of organic seed. The special offers for various amounts and types of purchases are a nice treat as well.

I recently placed and order to Peaceful Valley for 11 or 12 items. All items ordered were received within a week.

I have been a long time customer of Peaceful Valley and have noticed that over the past few years that they have less regard for getting the correct items I order shipped ontime. One example of this was last week when I made a small simple order and paid extra to have it shipped 3 day expedited. The package came on time but didn't not contain the correct amount of items ordered. When I called Peaceful Valley,they apologiszed for any imconveinience and told me that the order would be shipped out again. When I asked if they could ship it out overnight or two day, the representative told me that her suppervisor said that they would not. So I have paid the 3 day rate for 7 day shipping due to an error in the Peaceful Valley Shipping dept. I think it is time to find other sources for my farm supplies.

Ordered snap fittings for a greenhouse. Paid with credit card. Site said these would be shipped in 1 or 2 business days. After a week I emailed asking about the status of my order, and received no reply. I had requested 2 day shipping and noted that I needed these right away and to notify me if they could not be sent within a week. However, no one from the company apparently cared to let me know anything. I have canceled the order and will order elsewhere.

My order was sent two days after I ordered and arrived the next day.

The selection and prices for any equipment a serious gardener could want are just great. My order was handled promptly and any questions I had were satisfied
within 24 hours. I look foreward to satisfying my future gardenig needs through "Peaceful Valley" and Dave's Garden.

I've been buying from PVFS for more than 10 years and had only good experiences. My most recent order was placed 12/29, shipped 12/30 and I received it 1/3 except one envelope of seeds that is backordered. I'm grateful for all I've learned from them, from the catalog and when I call up with questions. It's all about the soil for me and PVFS has made the difference.

PVFS has one huge thing going for it, an absolutely amazing selection of supplies that no other place gets aywhere close to. In particular for organic gardeners, there are literally hundreds of things that PVFS is the only source I know of in quantities for backyard gardeners. I have generally done OK with their website and customer service, they are fine but not exceptional. So if you are ordering standard things that lots of places sell, there is no big reason to shop at PVFS. On the other hand if you need more unusual items such as some Nu-Film 17 sticker, codling moth pheremone lures, are setting up your own irrigation system or greenhouse, need rowcover, cover crop seed, etc etc etc, they are THE place!!!

The product was something I search long and hard to find. The service was great, they shipped quickly and everything went well. Unfortunately, the cost of shipping was a third of the cost of the product on a $30.00 item. Other than that everything was fine.

They sell fantastic products and are super quick in delivery. I highly recommend them! As an urban gardener with a kitchen garden, I'm very happy.

ordered soil block maker on 12/15/04 and received on 12/20/04. Good quality great turn around time.

I read about the 'Deep Spader' in Mother Earth News. An intensive search led me back to PVFS. I then realized I had ordered from them twice before. Most recently when I wanted 'Green Sand' and they were the only place I found 50lb bags.
Shipping may be expensive but the prices, inventory and service justify it all. Now with their main catalogue, there's a lot more I'll be ordering.

I've ordered form these guys several times. My orders have always been delivered promptly and I'm very happy with their service. Also, I live close enough to the store that I can visit in person and have always had a wonderful experience with their onsite staff - they've been both friendly and knowledgeable.

My experience with Peaceful Valley was very good. The orchard ladder I bought online arrived within two days and was reasonably priced. The customer service was efficient and polite, and was followed through promptly and completely with the necessary shipping information. I spoke with Leslie and Katie, both of whom were friendly and helpful. I'm very satisfied.

I placed my order on the 25th, and I didnt recieve it til the 6th. I was disappointed by this, but it wouldnt have been a big deal if i didnt need these things immediately. Their prices, selection, and products are all wonderful. The items were SUPER packed in recycled materials, which i appreciated, and alot of tape. I certainly would, and probably will order from them again.

Ordered 5 Olive trees this spring: 2 Olive Ascolana Std Tree and 3 Olive Arbequina Std Tree. So far four have died despite being babied and properly taken care of and planted.

BEWARE: These folks warranty is LOUSY. Read their warranty prior to purchase. Also ordered two grapes at the same time and one of them has died also.

I ordered a couple hori-hori knives from this vendor. I received prompt services at reasonable prices.

I have had my fourth transaction with this company and I have only experienced great customer service, attentivness, and quick service. Recently,I had ordered some items that were back ordered. I received a phone call letting me know the situation. They have provided nothing but great service. Thank you.

This was my first order. Six packets of seeds to start. Everything was easy and the seeds arrived in a week.

I have shopped PVFS several times online, by catalog and in person over the last 5 years and have never had a complaint. They have always been prompt, more than helpful and very informative. Their catalog is actually what started me into organic gardening. Their prices and rates have always been the best and I will shop with them again.

All I wanted to order was one stinking item. That's it. Just one $15 roll of silver mulch. It's not like I had a giant thousand dollar order with multiple items out of stock that would take two or three people to check. Just one stupid item.

Here it is TWO FULL WEEKS later and it's just now supposedly going to ship. This is the second time it's been promised to ship, so I'm not really holding my breath.

Communication from the company has been absolutely ZERO, not a phone call, not a single email to update the status of the order. Just the standard computer generated Order Confirmation. When I called for the second time to see where my order was, the girl on the phone just acted like it was no big deal.

So much for the anticipated service level of a "mom and pop" store, eh? I can't imagine ever buying from them again.

Ordered cover crop seed, which I haven't put in yet so we'll see how that goes. Received strawberry plants, asparagus, raspberries, blueberries all seemingly in very good condition. My order came quickly, with no unpleasant surprises.
If they grow as well as things have gone so far, I'll soon have great pictures to send!

I ordered a very special(ized) garden tool from this company and was happy with the transaction. Good communication, fast shipping and an excellent product at a reasonable price.

I just had the most unpleasant experience with PVFS, which is all the more bewildering because I've ordered from them before without a hitch.

3/3/04: Placed an online order of over $300 with ship date of 4/1/04.

3/4/04: Received an e-mail telling me my order has shipped?!?! Uh oh, not too cool. I'd just made a second large purchase with another company. This meant that nearly $800 is about to show up on the same billing cycle instead of spread out over a couple. I immediately called the PVFS customer service, or at least I thought I had. The live person who answered claimed not to be customer service (even though I followed their automatic touch-tone directory) and passed me off to a voicemail box, which promised a response within 1 day.

3/5/04:No phone call, so I sent followup e-mail suggesting that they split the charge over a couple months. Seemed to me like a reasonable compromise. PVFS gets some money now and I just have to figure out where to store everything for a month.

3/6/04:(Saturday) Received a call from a very young and uncertain sounding woman telling me that they couldn't split the payment as I'd suggested. I reminded her that it was PVFS who screwed up the ship date, to which she responded that didn't know anything else about my order. She got increasingly flustered with my questions and said that I would have to wait until Monday (3/8/04) to talk to someone who could help me. When I responded that the shipment would probably arrive by then and I was going to refuse it, she abruptly hung up on me!

Shame on those people for using some poor girl as a customer-service sacrifice! Ah, if only this was a joke, ha, ha. . .Anyway, I'm a pretty experienced online shopper, including eBay and other auctions. Matter of fact, I usually get "A++" as an Internet customer.

So what the heck is going on over there in Grass Valley, CA?

Ordered 100 Ft. Laramie Strawberry plants. Due to illness I was not able to plant them for two weeks so they were stored in the refrigerator. Not expecting great sucess I planted them after the two weeks and only two plants did not survive. I'm inpressed with the quality. :-)

I recently ordered 20 square seed flats thinking that they came with 6-paks included because it showed them in the picture. I was quite surprised when the order came in and it was just the flats. I simply sent an e-mail through the Garden Watchdog stating that the picture was deceiving, I thought that the flats came with the 6-packs. I received an e-mail right back agreeing with me. They corrected the wording on the internet and along with doing so, they also sent us 20 sheets of 12 go with our flats. As a professional landscape gardener, and now as an organic farmer, this company, PVFS, has been a shining light of good quality products and a positive and inspiring catalog of goods. An organic gardener can learn so much by reading the catalog cover to cover. I wholeheartedly recommend this company.

I am from a country called Bangladesh. I have ordered via a friend some pepper seeds last month. Delivery was fast.

My friend came to visit us this month, he brought the seeds with him.I just started, seeds are germinated almost 99%( one pack said 80% other 90%). The price is really good! And the best part is it Organic.

I will order for more from them in future.

Ordered various seeds and growing supplies in September, 2003. Order arrived promptly and in excellent condition. Seeds have great germination rate within two weeks of sowing. I will definitely order from them in the future.

We write this with heavy hearts and wishes for improvement of services at Peaceful Valley Farm Supply.
Our expectations, after placing a substantial on-line order for Gopher Baskets and leaving an urgent plea for speedy delivery, were dashed when we called after three days of not hearing from Peaceful Valley. We were told that the order HAD NOT YET BEEN SHIPPED!! They were unable to give us a reason. Only after a SECOND call to Peacefull Valley did we learn that the warehouse people had called in sick over the previous weekend. We prayed for enlightenment regarding this statement since our order was placed on a Monday afternoon. We assumed they meant they were backlogged. Our phone call was placed on Thursday. It wasn't untill Saturday before we were sent a tracking number. In the mean time, we have suffered the loss of four more Italian Blue Cypress trees at the hands of gophers.
We get the feeling that things are a little too peacefull over there at Peaceful Valley Farm Supply.
Our advice: Confirm your on-line orders with a follow up phone call. We also sincerely hope those warehouse workers are back to work and filling orders.
