That yard sure goes with your retirement. So glad you posted the photos so I could see all your plants, pond and old friends.
I have a big black snake in mine that you could have. LOL
Sheila and Herman Celebrate Retirement.
Oh Sheila! What a fantastic and beautiful yard! Looks like everyone had a great time. I'm really sorry we had to miss it. Darn work schedule! LOL
Thanks Stephanie. You are close enough that you and the DH could pop over anytime. We would love to have you. If you don't still have the flyer with my number dmail me.
I just noticed that none of the pictures were in the front. It is a modest 1950's house that we have "do it yourself" remodeled but we love it. It surprizes everyone to see how big it is on the inside, but especially the backyard that you can't see from the front. Thought I would show off the front yard plants that get full sun.
The pic was taken in May so no more pansies and daylilies and phlox have the center stage.

It certainly is lovely Sheila.
Thanks Josephine! So many of the plants are from you, and others on DG. I have been able to share "or pay forward" with others too; because I have been blessed by so many friends.
Beautiful, Sheila. I really like the wide walkway and the rustic fence.

LAMIASTRUM Herman's Pride
Thought this was funny that the garden ad picked up Herman's name.
What ad Anna?
Congrats on retirement Sheila your yard looks beautiful!
Look at the top of the thread on the right: Top Watchdog Ads:
Thanks Sherill! Missed you at the RU and on DG, hope all is well. Come by sometime and we can catch up.
Anna....if it is one of the advertisements that are attached...don't see it. I have those blocked in my preferences.....can't stand to be distracted with them. Funny though that it did that. I know emails that get through the spam filter sometimes grab names on my contact list or events and include it in the subject trying to get you to open them.

I have a Yellow Archangel Lamium, too bad it isn't that one. I gave away several pots of mine that day. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/239872/
It would have been funny if we shared 'Herman's Pride'.
sounds like a good idea Sheila! Since we live so close! My mom's husband is having his deep brain stimulation surgery for Parkinson's this month. So when that's all done I'll have a more time.
Sorry for the family situation. Hope that all goes well and it will do some good for him. Prayers for your family.
Thanks! He has 2 surgeries one the 23rd to get him wired and the 30th to have the battery pack put in and that will pretty much be it.
I hope it improves his quality of life. Amazing technology!
went to dallas today and spent all day doing pre-op testing and an mri and it's official he goes for surgery at 5:30am 6/23. We all pretty excited! He allergic to all the Parkinson's meds so we are hoping this will help. As he says himself "I've got nothin' to lose".
That is great! That is a bad hand to be dealt, hope the surgery will give him some relief. What is his first name Sherill?
His name is Joe. My brother is in town and we might have quite a large group at the hospital. You know my mom is on Dave's garden too I think her name on here is SESITZ.
I remember now, Shirley is her name. Let us know how the surgery goes on the 23rd.
I will! Thanks!
my step-dad, Joe, did well in the surgery and hopefully he will be going home tomorrow (wednesday). Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts. The only problem was at the end when they needed to do a ct-scan on him he got cranky so they sedated him and did it anyway. I think folks get tired of being poked and prodded after awhile. Thanks again y'all!
Glad to hear the good news.
Josephine.
Glad that part is over with and he is home. Thanks for the update Sherril.
Thanks y'all!
