Dana-
I love it ALL!

What is not to love?...that little house is adorable, and you did a great job on it!
The windows are neat!

I like the tiny pottery, too. Your pond looks like a mirror with pebbles, but you say it is a bowl. It is so realistic looking!

and I LOVE that elfin coreopsis. I've never heard of that one before. What can I bribe you with, or trade to you, to ask you to pick a couple up for me?? hee-hee

I think I also see a tiny arbor?

And that bunny grass is too cute, too!! Looks like dwarf pampass grass :0)

Great job!

See? I knew you'd make a fairy garden :0) I'll be your kids LOVE it!

thanks , i went on a garden tour and someone had a mini garden and i was so jealous i was almost sick to my stomach. i immediately started making the house lol .

ill pick up a few for ya. they were only 2 bucks . i plan on going back to get a boxwood to prune like a tree . i also ordered mini dandelions, mini thrift , mini hosta tiny tears , and another bulb that has dangly fairy like flowers from edelweiss . and i have a bunch of elfin thyme coming . my 4 yr old likes it . the 8 yr old could care less but pretends to like it to make me happy lol .

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/55040/ here is one similar . the one i got was a different cultivar called" elfin gold" . not in pf . can you believe they were 2 bucks. some places on line are selling them for 12 !

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

The Elfin Coreopsis can be bought as seeds at Annie's Annuals or Hazzard's Greenhouse, to name a few. It grows 6" tall (or short!).

The Bunny Tail Grass is 12" - 18" and Annie's, Diane's Seeds, and Territorial Seeds has it.

I think my Sea Thrift (Armeria) is the dwarf kind, because it's short.

Oh, Dana, I forgot to mention that I love the house you made! I can't believe you made it - looks "professional"! Good job!

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

that little tuft by the "pond" is sea thrift

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

thanks .its very not professional lol . hypertufa old lattice slats and wood glue . lol . i wish it was more fairy like , like some in the sticky .its a first try .

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Dana-
any pics of the garden tour fairy garden??

Thanks for checking on the coreopsis. I'd love to try it. I love the regular coreopsis...so cheery & easy.

Do you want that elfin door and window set? I bought an extra...

They had tons of thrift at Home depot this year...don't know why I didn't buy any...must have been freshly scolded about spending too much money that day, lol...

I love how you did the roof with the moss. makes it look like it's been there FOREVER. Also like the green ceramic pitcher. I have never seen one like it. I think what is most fun about the tiny gardens is that it stimulates ones imagination and puts it in creative mode. The well is super, too.

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

taylor i have bad news .. all the elfin coreopsis was gone all that was left was the bunny tail grass and thrift . sorry . i even asked. they said if it was 2.00 a few days ago its probably on this dollar table, we moved all that was left . and not a single one .

on a brighter note i made another house today. sorry these are night shots . i also went to hobby lobby and they had lots of cool candle holders that double for birdbaths .

and when i dropped the kids off at moms she said come here i want to show you this ... she built a fairy door ! she is doing an animal theme .

Iris, you cracked me up. You liked it so much you felt sick!

You sure did get busy. Your fairy is very lucky! I love everything you did. I just love seeing the imagination everyone has. Each is so different! Great job!

Great door your mom made! Great place in the tree for it.

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

thanks . i didnt get pics . it was just a resin house and some mini hostas and elfin thyme on a hill . but it was cute .

the neighbors just got a boat . oh boy

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

hi-
Oh, well about the coreopsis....but thank you for looking. I'll just order some seeds. It will be fun to grow fairy stuff in the greenhouse this winter :0)

I like the light! Did you ever see that one I posted a while back with the marble? I just loved it! In fact, I set aside an acorn cap yesterday, to show you, but wow..,you've already made one! ;0)

I love the sweet birds nesting in the roof. precious.

So the neighbors got a boat??...can't wait to see what kind of house THEY build!, lol

dana, your mom's door is GREAT, pls tell her so. I love the ruff hewn quality of it. I'm sure, little guys don't have time to get too fancy w/ their home building, lol. Your birdbath is exactly the same as I have. I went looking for more at a 2nd HL and no luck. Well, they had others but they didn't look quite right. I was thinking that a soapdish would also work. I know BB&B has some stone (marble or imitation marble) that would look great.

T, is the acorn the light? c-u-u-u-t-e

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, the acorn is the light, but I like Dana's yellow color better...green isn't quite right, but just love the idea. I think an acorn/marble light would be better using a yellow marble.

I have a little marble collection. I need to see If I have any yellow ones in there...

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

i was at this shop that had these great marbles, the big ones . i should have gotten one for a gazing ball . the mini garden was there and my thoughts were clouded with jealousy so i didnt think of it . its a house and a really expensive gift shop and a salon . all kind of hooked together with gardens between the buildings . i wanted to live there . it is all by itself way out in the country .

that acorn came out of a fall flower arrangement . i just painted yellow with white in the center to look like a lightbulb.

i love that house taylor and the marble is a great idea . more real looking. i dont know how long mine will hold up in the weather .

South, TX

I love gazing balls for fairies. My husband and I bought this one at at art show last year. It is amazing. Looks like planets and stars.

Sally-
that one really is SO neat...no wonder that fairy can just stare at it for days on end :0)

Dana-that isn't my light, by the way...it is just a picture I saved off the internet because I loved the idea.

Did you happen to take a picture of this fairy garden that you loved so much? I love to see it!
Why don't you go work at that place?...next best thing to living there! Sounds like you'd love it there, and from what I know about hairdressing, your customers will follow you anywhere

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

its a one person shop . she has her own compound . oh i forgot to mention . behind the garden she has a real caboose on tracks it used to be her shop.now its part of the whole thing and the shop is in a small building. she used to work for a lady that i work with . i was working on my own plan i slowed down on that idea . the shop that im in is one of the nicest here and the owner still struggles . i just want to have fun ,lol .

i didnt bring my camera .honestly i didnt think id see anything that i dont already have or see every day. i was wrong . that mini garden has been there a while . all the plants were mature . the other houses on the tour were basically landscaped . the same ole stellas and knockouts .hostas .

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

well, if you ever go back there, please take your camera. I'd love a virtual tour :0)

Sounds like she is just having fun, too. Most gift shops in the middle of nowhere cannot fund a one-person salon, or vice versa.

She must have other sources to fund her "fun''. I know a lot of women don't need to work, but their husbands let them open a shop or something, for something to do that they enjoy.

Must be nice, lol...

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

she has a well off clientele and she sells to them mostly . there was a 6 foot metal flower garden shower .it hooked up to the hose . i want it . it was 300 though .

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

well, if it makes you feel any better, I bought one of those(cheaper version, lol) and we NEVER use it, even though I thought we'd use it a lot

So, no matter what I paid for it, it was a waste of money.

Think of it as saving yourself a $300 regret :0)

If you really still want one, you can have mine, lol...

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

i dont have water where my garden is . id have to install something . so i wouldnt get it lol .

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

the tall grass like stuff is the lecojum it has the white bells .

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Hideous paneling?..isn't that the "real deal" bead board? That is wonderful stuff. I LOVE it...mostly painted satin white, but still...

People pay a bundle to put that in new.

I have a shed full that I salvaged, and can't wait to put it in one of my spare bedrooms as a half-paneling at the bottom, and a powder blue paint above...

Super cute thrift!! Is this the right site?

I didn't see any way to order...looked like pick up only, but you said order...
