Found these little things on J.Maples and Taiwan Elms. They can jump too. Went to pick one off and moved quick as a rabbit. Are they harmful?

i'll never get the spelling right. they're pysillids i think. somebody help me spell! yes, enough of them can "drain" a plant. i use dr. bronner's castile soap and water and it kills them and everything else. don't spray when bees are around.
Psyllids, Psyllidae, the family of jumping plant lice.
But this looks to me like a plant hopper nymph of some kind, maybe genus Acanalonia

glad you stepped in, claypa. after i posted this, i had second thoughts. i just looked these up the other day because i have some and psyllid stuck in my head for some reason, but i didn't think it was right.
Sure looks like the Acanalonia. Thanks.
