Are Episcias becoming a thing of the past?

Yes... My Precious in an episcia!

Karen, which episcia has the bloom that you posted on the birthday thread for Goldleaf? Seedpicker, go look at that bloom. SO PRETTY!

That is Ember Lace, back-lit by morning sun. I LOVED that one, and I'm afraid mine eventually reverted back to all green... and even now, I only have the smallest plant of it that is still hanging on! She is a true beauty and I wouldn't mind having it again. It is very unstable though.

Seedpicker... I love your Pink Smoke too! That is a very unusual color and your plant looks very happy!

Hang on to Ember Lace! I can't find them anywhere. I did read somewhere that if a stolon comes out solid green, it is no good and just clip it off. Somehow it can cause the whole plant to revert back to green and lose the variegation. Also, the stolon will never variegate. Does that sound true with your experience?

Thanks for the info, seedpicker! I thought you might like that one too. Karen can produce a beautiful bloom!

I DO love it, but the blooms on pink smoke are almost identical...they are very bright hot pink with a yellowy/orange center... gorgeous!

It is the glowing gold/orange bloom from "My Precious' that I'm now pining after :0)

Okay, we have GOT to do that trade when the weather gets right for you. Do you have a Suomi? It blooms a beautiful yellow and the leaves are more of a bronze color. I have one that has some baby stolons...

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

nope... don't have that one. I only have the pink smoke. That is the only episcia I own, to date ;0)

One question, seedpicker, On the strawberry one, how long is a few more days before freezing? 2 days, 3 days? Okay now we have to get back to episcias. Sorry all.

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)
