CLOSED: What is this insect???

Redford, MI(Zone 6a)

This thing has eaten my Russian Sage, some of my coneflower leaves and monardia. I would like to know what it is if anyone knows and what I can do to get rid of it before I have nothing left. So far it has not touched any lillies.

I wasn't able to enlarge the photo but from what I can see it is a Lady Bug Larvae. If that is correct it is not the insect eating your plants. They are voracious predators of aphids and are very beneficial. I would look for some other source feeding on your plants. Hope you didn't squish any of these bugs!

Thank you! For some reason I decided to just take it's picture and now I'm glad that I did. These were not on any of the destroyed leaves but actually on the garbage can lid. I will leave them alone! I do have another picture of the monardia and will try to enlarge the insect photo. If I can, I will be back. I thought these were the same and now that I think about it those on the plant leaves are orange but smaller. Thank you and the ladybug thanks you.

This is what is on the monardia leaf. I hope that you can see it as they are very small. I hope that you can see enough.

I believe that is the nymph of the striped cucumber beetle. Those you might want to squash.

I think they will be going to beetle heaven.

OK, I think I am wrong about this. The cucumber beetle has a larvae, not a nymph from what I can see. Maybe a stink bug. Whatever it is, it looks immature and it is something I have identified for myself before. I thought I came up with the three lined beetles but I suppose beetles have larvae. It would be a "true bug", something that goes through the nymph stage.
I have them and they are easy to find because of the damage they cause.

Yes they have caused damage for sure. I don't like using spray on my garden but I will have to, if it ever stops raining. Thanks for your help.
