I really enjoyed your garden tour Sandy. Your garden is always exceptional. Those people were very fortunate to get to tour it.
My first garden tour ...
Lovely Sandy.
( And that reminds me I need to put my toadstools out in the garden! )
I absolutely MUST have a fairy garden, with a gnome door. I have a toadstool, and a "secret garden" fairy - need to put some "eyes" on my fir tree hmmmmmmm mind is working a mile-a-minute!! Doncha just love the fairy world?!?!
I have a perfect spot for it, if I can keep my DH from tromping on it LOL He's doing some work in the "back 40" this summer, so am hoping it can be completed in time for me to work on the back yard LOL I'm a little ahead of the game, so this w/e I'm going to work on my planting table! :-)

just found this thread....
WOW, what a beautiful garden! love the little fairy garden, made me smile ;)
just, WOW!
Gorgeous. Makes me almost want to get rid of some of the ones I have to make more space.
Oh dear - maybe I better revise my Peony order once again?
Gorgeous Sandy!
gotta have frogs in your garden (I do too!) :-)
loverly....loverly!!
And Sandy's got REAL ones too! :-D
Talk about beautiful gardens...lucky you!
Sandy, your gardens are stunning as always! I think you could easily put some of those gardens in Rockcliffe to shame! I love the fairy.
Ann, I agree with Sandy that you sell yourself short! I think your gardens are beautiful as well and after seeing them last year, I have caught the mini hosta bug and have added several!
Brenda
Betty ~ thanks so much for the comment - I just returned from a hosta convention and toured 10 fantastic gardens. It seems the distinguishing feature of each was how they 'decorated' their gardens, something I know you're a master at!
Brenda ~ well hi there! So nice to hear from you! The 'Strawberry Swirl' heuchera you gave me is thriving. I know, isn't Ann a great enabler! lol ..... and an inspiration to those with city lots and collector tendencies.
Sandy
Posting a pic for those on 'watch':
Love Birds among the white Gas Plant and Oriental Poppy 'Helen Elizabeth' (taken last week)
What a lovely picture, Sandy ^_^
Nice shot Sandy.
Have you ever 'fired' your gas plant?
Nope, never tried that, Carol, have you?
Sandy
Yes! Quite a sight! But you really need to do it when it is dark!
At a garden visit to a friends spotted a lovely old clump of gas plant.Asked her if she had ever lit it ? No. Husband got a lighter and we all gathered round and she touched the lighter to the flowers and brief flame whooshed up the spike of flowers and went out. We were able to do it multiple times as there were a lot of flower spikes. Unfortunately it was not very dark and I suggested some time we should go out at midnight with a video camera and videotape the whole business,( but we have not done that yet) I subsequently found a very brief videotape on youtube.
Fun to do if you have visitors - really impressed them!
carolvan
Beautiful flower with such an interesting name lol
Carol - I tried to find the Gas Plant video on YouTube, but had no success. Do you have a link to it?

there is another one which is longer but done in the day time;
Google Dictamnus(gas plant ) video and I think you will find it.
Thank you - looks cool!
my DH & I were @ Golden Acres and they had them there - very pretty
Darn, wish the blooms weren't spent. Must make a note to try that next year! I'll impress my boys who think plants are kinda boring .... :-)
Sandy
I would SO set myself on fire if I tried that (snort). Note to self: If you get a gasplant, ask Carol to light it.
ROFLMBO!!
Right after I posted that, about the gas plant, I went back to Golden Acres and they were sold out.
They're kinda pretty with their white flowers (until they get burnt-brown lol).
Hi Sandy: Jim here, Just dropping a short note to see if you are still online and if you are still showing tours of your beautiful gardens? Have you changed anything or added some new perhaps? We've added a couple of nice new things, like a Multi-Branch; Bloodgood Japanes Maple, a few more roses, you know me and my roses! How could I forget the new Climatis and the new Wegeila? We have just a small lot, so thinking through to adding more plants and actually picking the right spot for them, is a challenge in iyself. However, with some imagination and a fairly keen eye for detail, someone how we always manage to keep our gardens attractive and balanced. Please let me know how you are doing and God Bless!
Jim
Jim - Sandy and I are both on the Ontario Hosta Society bus tour in the Ottawa area on June 26. Why don't you sign on and come up to Ottawa for it?
