Morning Glory Tree - anyone have a photo

St Pete, FL(Zone 10a)

I remember seeing a picture on the internet where someone had pulled morning glory vines together to create the shape of a tree and it looked very real. I have done a google search and looked on here but I can't find the picture anymore (it was about 2 yrs ago when I saw it). I would love to make a "morning glory tree" this summer but I would like to see that photo first to get a better visual before I try it. Has anyone on here ever created this before? Just looking for a picture of one.
Thanks!!

TNTulip - I've seen a photo of what I believe you are talking about. I don't remember what the vine was, but it was shaped into an umbrella form/canopy. In fact, I think the vines were grown on an old stand-alone patio umbrella frame. The umbrella fabric had rotten and been pulled off the frame, but the frame was still good! The vines were grown up the pole and then draped and woven across the umbrella skeleton. It looked really cool! Good recycled use of an old patio umbrella! :-)

If someone finds that photo, please post the link here! :-)

Here is an interesting article about using vines for topiaries:

Here is the post and photo of the MG "tree". This is not the photo I was thinking of, but even better as it shows our beloved MGs used as the vine to show how it really looks! Just gorgeous! Thanks to Ron for posting such a great idea!!! I hope to use that very idea sometime in the near future! :-)
