I have a red and white bed on one side of my fence. I have red and white hydrangea along the fence and red minature roses in the front. This is a second year bed for the hydrangea so nothing is too tall yet. The roses are new this year. I am looking for red and white lilies that would be about 2 feet tall to grow between the hydrangea and roses. Any suggestions would be helpful.
All my orientals are too tall for what I have in mind.
need a help finding the right lily
is it to late to plant bulbs for summer? Or will it have to be fall for next year? Also can you recommend a good place to find bulbs?
Maru is another shorty.
It's too late to buy decent bulbs now but llook at your garden center for short ones. I would recommend planting the whole pot as they are now and then digging them up and replanting into the ground in the fall after they have died back. Hard to say what will be available this fall but I am sure there are a lot of enablers on this forum that will more than willing to chime in!
I noticed lots of places selling the 'Tiny' series with 3 to a pot. Even some of the nicer grocery stores with a floral dept. have 2 or 3 varieties.
There are several wonderful growers/ vendors for fall .
Faraway Flowers (spring only)
Buggy Crazy (fall only)
B& D Lilies (spring and fall)
The Lily Garden (spring and fall)
just to name a few of my personal favorites. It's late, so I could have missed somebody, but those places will give you a lot of selections with nice sized bulbs. Have fun looking.
Thanks for the advice. Now to start planning fall orders before the spring planting is done and the credit cards paid LOL.
By the way ~ you can start placing orders before long for Fall shipping.
LOL my DH will be thrilled.
There is a short white one that I have that is getting ready to bloom and that is New Wave. I planted them in a mass of 12 in front of a Jackamaini clematis. BEV
