They are on my milkweed, roses and hibiscus. They all showed up in about a week.

Aphids.

Lovely. Lady bugs eat those right?

(Zone 7a)

Yes, they do. One lady beetle can eat a sruprising amount of them. I would hit everything with a good stream of water to knock them off. Don't forget the undersides of the leaves and flowers. There are severa sprays on the market for treating these. If you prefer, you can get some predators like lady beetles.

if plain water isn't your thing, soapy water works well too. when you have milkweed, it's a given that you will have aphids. i guess that's true for roses too but i spray dr. bronner's castile soap once a month and i never have aphids on the roses or anything else.

Thanks :) I'll try that.

just do it early morning or late evening, after the bees are in bed.
