help. My lily leaves are turning yellowish

Dunkirk, NY(Zone 6b)

I have had problems with my Clematis leaves turning yellowish, and now it is the lilies. No sign of insects or drying, just not as green as they should be. I used epsom salts on the Clems and roses and that helped. Is this good for lilies? They look really healthy otherwise. We have had a huge amount of rain this spring. Is this the cause?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lisa ~ with lots of rain I might suspect Botrytis. Are the leaves turning yellow from the bottom up? If you could post a pic that would help a lot.

They don't look bad at all ~ at least not what I was thinking. Maybe try a little balanced fertilizer like Miracle Grow and see how they look in a couple weeks.

Agree with Moby that those lilies don't look so terrible. Have you been getting lots of rain?

Thanks Moby and Leftwood, Big relief....and yes we have had a lot of rain.

I figured as much. Your lilies are being stressed by too much water. Your iris like the extra water. In cases of overwatering, fertilizer could make it worse. If it were me, I would just leave them be. Things will get back to normal when the soil dries out some. Then you can fertilize. But don't use a liquid - that's even more water!
