Asymmetrical alternating leaf shape of ipomoea nil

Aschaffenburg, Germany

I am not quite sure what this nil is eventually gonna be...What's most fascinating is that the dragon shape (?) or is it cicada shape (?) is asymmetrical and alternates in its asymmetry. You need to look closely at the leaves above and under the clothes peg. One time the little appendix is on the left "wing" and then it's on the right wing and vice a versa. It will be interesting to see if the blooms next to these leaves also differ...Morning glories are just so full of inspiration and mystery as Karen alias bluespiral used to say...

i've notice things like that too Martin and wondered if it's dragonfly leaf...
the varous leaf elements are discussed here:

but it doesn't mention anything about your observation!!

I will have to see if tomorrow's bloom is different from today's. I keep this willow inside, but since it is already pretty hot, I observe colour changes in the bloom. Interestingly, some are not so prone to colour change than others. I have some light blue ones outside in the full sun, they don't change their colour...

I love those kind of leaves, I have some here that are cool like that, what is really nice is that you have a bloom on yours.. even better! It is weird to me how they produce their blooms , but not being a botanist and all, I am just glad I have the eyesight to view these lovelies.. what is your weather like there?

Indeed, morning glories are full of mystery...For me, would you believe it, these flowers have been much of an encouragement, and it's always the first thing in the morning to check the new blooms...We had some rain last night, thanks God, so the temperature dropped during the night, but the sun is back with a revenge. We have around 45 degrees Celsius these days, still the house is such a blessing, because we can use the parterre part, which is much cooler. Last night I slept on the tiles with a towel till I was awakened by the touch of a cockroach, needless to say that after I had crushed it with my shoe, I continue to sleep in my bed...Even cock roaches are suffering from the heat...the morning glories don't seem to mind it though...

Martin - I don't know what cultivar you have there, but it's most attractive! :-)

I could not sleep on a tile floor. I wouldn't be able to get up off the floor in the morning. My back couldn't take it! And the minute you mentioned a cockroach! OMG!!! EEEEEEEKKKKKK! I can handle a lot of different kinds of bugs ... but NOT cockroaches! They freak me out! BAD bugs! Ugh!! Stay in your bed at night, Martin! :-)

Martin.. I have been there and done that , so I know how you feel about the floor when it is hot! I am glad you got some rain.. we have had rain here for awhile again tonight after a day of 99
