I have hundreds (if not thousands) of these creeters living in my Centepede grass. They come alive whenever I mow my lawn and become very hostile. They jump on you, get in your mouth, nostril, clothing, etc trying to get away. These are less than 3/8" long, not very good flyers and stay mostly close to the grass when disturbed. Can you identify this bug and possibly suggest methods of controlling these pesky insects?
Thanks

It's a Two-lined Spittlebug, Prosapia bicincta. I can't tell you about controlling them, though.
